Hostage situation

Eventually you get out of bed, shower and get dressed. You check the news online to see if there's any mention of you stopping that thief, but there's nothing. It was just a snatch and grab anyway and not noteworthy enough.

You're trying to decide what you could do that would get more attention, when you get a breaking news alert on your phone. Apparently the police are engaged in a standoff with a gunman at a downtown hospital. Quickly, you run over to the television to turn the news on and they're showing the scene from above with their helicopter crew.

Making yourself invisible, you teleport to the hospital you just saw on television. There's a police barricade where officers are pointing their guns inwards and using a loudspeaker to communicate with the gunman who's standing behind the glassdoors of the front entrance. He's using a doctor as a human shield and holding a gun to her head, so the police are hesitating about taking the shot.

You teleport inside the hospital, to a vending machine just a few feet behind the gunman. You duck behind the machine, make yourself visible and stick your head out to look at the situation. A few officers outside see you and you can tell they're not sure what you're doing. Taking a deep breath, you activate the super strength ring and jump out from your hiding place to tackle the gunman from behind. With the element of surprise, the gunman has little time to reaction as you knock the gun out of his hand and pin him to the floor.

The frightened doctor shrieks and runs out while officers storm in with their guns drawn. They keep their guns trained on the gunman as you release him and get up with your hands up. The officers cuff the man before thanking you and they all take turns shaking your hand.

After that, it's all a blur as you get whisked away for a press conference with the police commissioner who commends you for your bravery. You do a few interviews with the media and no doubt your picture will be on the front page tomorrow. It's late afternoon by the time you're able to peel away from the attention and head back into the busy streets of New York where you disappear into the crowds.
