Hospitalus Exitus

"What did you do?" he mentally shouted at the voice. he received no response. "Crap, is it gone? But I was just paralyzed a second ago and now it's fine. Maybe it just doesn't answer all the time. Damn they're chatty," his train of thought drifted slightly to the trio at the door. "Alright, you know what, I already made myself not paralyzed, there's no reason to go through this. I wish that I had received only a minor injury from my fall; enough that I called for help and blacked out, but nothing major."

It was like watching a stutter frame. In one frame, there were three doctors standing in the door discussing his case. In the next, the door was closed and a nurse was to his right, taking his vitals.

"Alright, Mr. Brady, your vitals look good. The doctor said you can be discharged later today if nothing changes. Your lucky, normally when a power brings someone in, it's a case for major surgery at least. You got out of it with a bump on the head," she said, reassuring him. "Although I'm sure you're disappointed that you didn't get to meet Supergirl."

John was released from Metropolis University Hospital at 9:30 the following morning. Hospital bureaucracy, combined with Machen being 3 hours away from the city, had contributed to his overnight stay. Given that he had never been to the city and that today was the first day of spring break, it could almost have been a vacation if not for how he got there.

John had been testing his wish power a bit. While it seemed to be working, he was a bit worried that he never got any response from the voice. He had no idea how this was supposed to work, though,; maybe it was only supposed to be around for the first couple wishes. One thing he had quickly settled on, though, was that this was awesome. He was in a fictional city, he might as well have some fun with it. And fun began by having all his vacation stuff with him and an all expenses paid room in the Metro Ritz-Carlton.
