That meeting with Supergirl

John had started off his vacation with a room-service lunch and a copy of the Daily Planet -- Lois Lane had a boring article in the metro section about the city budget, and he didn't see a Clark Kent byline -- but now he was thinking about what the nurse had said to him -- "you didn't get to meet Supergirl."

"Well, why not?" he thought to himself, and then said, "I wish Supergirl were here."

John heard a thump on the balcony. The doors to the outside swung open, and Supergirl strode inside. She looked just as she was supposed to -- blonde hair, red cape, blue spandex shirt with the "S" emblem over her small but perky breasts, red skirt showing off her shapely, athletic legs, and a matching pair of knee-high red boots.

"John Brady? The hospital said I would find you here," she said. "I came to make sure you were all right."

"Just a bump on the head," said John. "They told me it was nothing."

"You can't be too careful," said Supergirl. "I just happened to hear you yelling for help as I was flying over, and by the time I landed, you had passed out. I'm sorry I brought you all the way to Metropolis, but the hospitals here know me..."

John held up a hand. "No problem. I'm taking this as the opportunity for a little vacation in the big city."

"Glad to hear it," said the superhero. "Listen, if I or anyone else in the Justice League can be of help to you, just give this number a call," she added, giving him a card with 'Justice League Victim Assistance Line' and a 555 number on it. "Not everyone in the league can hear people yelling from miles away, so we set up a call center. Also, they'll be able to cover you for a train ticket back when you want one."

She turned to go, her cape flowing around her. "Wait," said John.

Supergirl turned back toward him, an expectant look on her face.
