Chapter 30
by

Head home before the storm starts?
Hopefully Jessie will talk to you.
The sky opened up and started dumping rain down on Navarre just as Leon was making it home. It drenched his clothes, making them sag until he looked like he was covered in a Shar Pei’s loose skin.
The waterproof shoulder case spared Cammy and his cellphone from tragedy. Once he entered his unlit house, he climbed the flight of stairs up to his room, took both of the electronics out of the wet case, and laid them on his bed before heading to take a warm shower.
The rivulets of hot water felt like a lover's touch (by his inexperienced approximation) caressing him tenderly in all the places he longed to feel one. When you're single and lonely, sometimes the embrace of a warm shower is the only thing to offer you companionship.
Water flowed along his cock pleasantly, making the impossibly awesome events at the Fairchild's doorstep creep into his head. An eager desire surged through him like nitrous oxide when he remembered the unexpected joy of seeing Marlene’s thick brown bush. Hearing her whisper "I’d love for you to come inside" with that needy look in her eyes...
The hardening of his cock was halted by the sound of thunder. A slim brunette sinking into the sea flashed through his mind.
I should've at least gotten her number so I could check on her later, he thought. Yeah. Right. Like he was suave enough to get a girl's digits that fast. Maybe you could have, if you weren't so chickenshit. Apparently, even the relative safety granted to him by the System wasn't enough to make him speak up. It was something he'd need to work on.
It was easier with Jessie. There was something about her that let him skip past all of those initial worries. I still haven't had the chance to admire those pictures yet. I could always spend this stormy evening lost in fantasyland. Excitement at the thought got him out of the shower in a hurry.
He threw on a mostly clean pair of cargo shorts and chose a shirt with some classic Banksy art printed on it (the black silhouette of a child reaching for an eye catching red heart-shaped balloon). Jessie's photos were waiting for his discerning eye, but he checked his phone first.
Jessie: can you come here?
Jessie: my doors unlocked
Jessie: ...put clothes on first lol
A mixture of excitement and dread overtook him. It shouldn't be like this, he knew. Cammy and the System pretty much assured that she wouldn't ditch him, but he couldn't stop the unreasonable fear that follow him to her closed door. It can't control emotions, remember? She could have decided she hates me. Jessie might be a totally different person just behind this door.
Is it the same old Jessie?

Soul Links
Bonds to last a lifetime
This story is largely inspired by the Social Link system in newer Persona games. It’s Leon's first year out of high school. He's a loner questioning his passion for photography after a particularly eye opening talk with his teacher. Now he doesn't know what to do with his life. That is, until he discovers the Chronicle System; a mysterious tool that just might turn his life around. What does your heart desire?
