Chapter 5
by SingingLark
Where will the princess use her new-found magic?
Honest talk with the nursemaid
Liandra hurried back to the castle, and to her room. She nursed the idea of using the powerful magical item for some long hours, but couldn't get the courage to do the deed. What if the magic destroyed her morals, and turned her into a sick deviant? Liandra was unsure if she was strong enough to resist the unknown charm, but the prize would be great. And would the negative side effects endure when she took off the ring? There was so much she didn't know, and so little time.
"Liandra?" The nanny's voice spooked Liandra, who had been playing with the ring, and as if by magic it slid in her finger. "Are you okay my love?" Flora had always cared for the princess, and was more of a mother than the Queen ever tried to be. The idea of falling for the aging woman nauseated Liandra, but the ring got stuck in her hand. Flora placed her hand on Liandra's shoulder, and turned her
"Are you feeling ill, Liandra? you do look awfully pale" Liandra's heart froze for a moment. Their eyes met. And then it continued beating, as if nothing happened. Nothing at all. Liandra blinked several times, and when her eyes lowered a tad she imagined Flora's shagging tits. The princess started to laugh, definitively there was not an ounce of attraction there.
The talk was merry, and Flora asked Liandra many questions. Where had she been? Did she have a guard? why must she be such a rebel spirit, and make these unseemly escapes? it was fun to tease the nursemaid, and Liandra suspected it was so for both sides.
"Do you think I will have a happy marriage?" Liandra shifted to Flora's next favorite topic, and it was almost as if a knife pierced her heart when the nanny answered "Of course my dear princess, happy ever after". A lie, and such an outrageously blatant lie. All her merriness was gone when they faced each other again. "Flora, I do love you with all my heart, but I shall never have you lie to me again. I want the truth, and I want it all".
The nanny lived in the court for many years, and recognized at once the threat for what it was. Crestfallen, she confessed she heard terrible things about the groom to be. That he traveled far to distant lands, and that he brought back with him many strange, unholy customs. Flora heard he indulges in strange pleasures, and debauched more than one virtues maiden, noble and common. She heard whispers of future conquests, and feared he would take the first opportunity to shatter the lasting peace that reigned in the kingdom for so many years. There was even rumors he wasnt human anymore, but a dragon in disguise! Flora heard the royal magician, the master constable, the general knight, they all spoke against the match, but the King was decided on the match, and there was nothing that could be done.
Nothing that could be done? Is that truly what the princess thinks?
