After an hour of walking, Skyler finally arrived at the corner of the street he lived on. It was hard to believe that it had been at least two weeks since he had been home. His feet hurt, his joints ached, and he was quite hungry. He looked down at his feet and started to shamble along the walkway toward his home. No matter what he found, he would at least have an answer of what happened to his mother soon. He didn't know if his brother and/or cat were still alive, but there was still hope.

That was until Skyler saw what awaited him at his home's address. His heart sank within his chest as the weight of his journey brought him down to his knees with a thud. - 2 Hp His knees rested on the hot pavement beneath him as his eyes beheld the burnt remains of his home, cautionary tape sectioning off the area. His home, was lost. He had lived there most of his life. Although he had spent some time in Arkansas, Missouri, and even a different section of this town, this was the only place he truly called home. The one place he could return to if things went south. That was, until now.

As the true weight of the situation came to light within Skyler's mind. He couldn't help, but weakly smile as tears began to roll down his cheeks. "I see. I guess this is it. Time to sink or swim.." He looked up to the sky. His body felt truly heavy as the stress upon his body and soul were simply too much. His body relaxed as two notifications appeared in the center of his view before his eyes were closed by their own weight.

Skyler let out a slightly heavier breath as his body simply knelt there. If anyone asked him, he would have said he deserved this pain and misery. It was ironic yet fair. He had failed his family and now his body was failing him, but not enough to kill him. Losing 2% of his health and mana would be 4.92 health and 4.64 mana lost per minute. If you counter that with how much health and mana he regained per minute, 3.306 health and 3.312 mana per minute. He would only lose, 1.614 health and 1.328 mana per minute. Multiply those numbers by 120 and he would end up losing 194 (193.68) health and 159 (159.36) mana over two hours. Resulting in him surviving with 52 health and 73 mana remaining.

Skyler's body began to sweat as the heat from the sun beat down upon him while his own body temperature steadily rose. This was certainly an unpleasant situation. It made him wonder. 'Will I die from dehydration before this depression timer is up? Goodness, wouldn't that be rich..' That is when the sound of shoes hitting the pavement caught his attention.

Back at Shady Seven's Glade, a few minutes after everyone had eaten

Shady arose from where she had been sitting, thinking about what Skyler had said all this time. It was clear that he didn't desire help, but not because of something as silly as pride. Goodness, no. It was about protecting others from what he felt was a doomed mission. It was both cute and sad. He was clearly trying to shoulder responsibilities beyond his control. Her centuries of experience had shown her that those born within the Abyss wouldn't act this way. There were a few traits that tended to arise: pride, deceit, and racism. Most did everything they could to obtain more power for themselves and influence over others.

It was clear that Skyler was a strange man. He carefully chose his words, respecting her group while distancing and hurting himself. She began to wonder if somehow this was some weird ploy to steal from them. However, after looking around carefully and using her magic, she came to the conclusion that he had truly left without taking anything or hurting anyone. This was a very odd situation. There must have been something she missed. Even the most miniscule of details could make all the difference in a situation like this.

With this in mind, Shady began to think about their conversation earlier. Trying her best to focus on anything she might have missed at the time. However, when she focused on Skyler's eyes, her heart skipped a beat. The pigment of her cheeks darkened as blood flowed close to the surface, quickly warming her skin. She hadn't noticed at the time, but he had been looking at her like she was the most beautiful woman in the world. Being looked at wasn't unusual, not in the slightest. She had witnessed disdain, lust, anger, respect, loathing, and many more directed at her. But this look of intensity was something different. Just thinking about it made her legs weak.

Shady smiled as she thought. 'You're quite an unusual man, Skyler. Most would think of me as property to be sold or used. Not simply attractive.' She brought a hand over her heart while thinking more about him. While in thought, there was a knock on the side of the log cabin. Emily lifted a brow. "If you are going to think fondly about someone. Don't leave your mental link open." When Shady looked in Emily's direction, she could see that Emily's cheeks were quite red. "Oh, I'm sorry Emily. I didn't mean to **** those thoughts and feelings on you."

Shady whispered something, canceling the link between them. "There. Was there something else you wanted?" Emily tilted her head while her cheeks returned to normal. "Yes, I wanted to know if you wanted me to bring him back. He couldn't have gotten very far." Shady looked down, her right front hoof gently scraping against the ground. "I, I really shouldn't impose my feelings upon him." Emily lifted a brow. "Uh huh. Look, it's obvious that you like him." A naughty and playful smile spread across her lips. "How about this. I can tie him up and forcefully bring him back. Sure, he'll be upset, but it's for his own good. It isn't like you plan to **** him, right?"

Shady turned around with a mixed look of shock, embarrassment, and nervousness. "Wha? I, I would never **** someone. I, I'm not some bicorn harlot!" Upon hearing this, Emily started to giggle. Shady puffed up her cheeks before sticking out her tongue at Emily. "Why don't you tease Daiki like this?" Emily grinned. "Because she's not innocent like you." She moved closer and hugged Shady. "He seemed nice. So, how about it?" Shady sighed and gently hugged Emily in return. "Okay, but only for tonight."

Back to Skyler

All Skyler could do was listen to the faint sound of someone walking in his direction. He began to wonder if they would simply ignore him or call for help. Although the likelihood was low, there was a chance that this person would help him out. About a minute later, when the sound of walking had stopped, he felt a hand upon his left shoulder and heard a familiar woman's voice. "That's amazing. You received help from Shady and still ended up getting stuck. I have never seen such a helpless man before."

Skyler was surprised to hear Emily's voice. However, he felt a pain in his chest as his heart sank upon hearing her words. - 10 Hp She was right, he was a helpless man and a waste of space. Honestly, the rest of the world would be better off without him. As these thoughts ran through his mind, his body started to slump to the side, pulling away from Emily's hand and toward the ground. Before he fell over, he felt another hand upon his other shoulder. "Who said you could fall over?"

Emily chuckled. "I can see why she likes you. You're like a kitten. You act tough, but have nothing to show for it. It makes you kind of adorable." Her score ticked up to 10. Skyler felt his heart sink again upon hearing her words. - 10 Hp It felt like his mind was being used as a punching bag, but what made matters worse was that her words were correct. He was paralyzed once again and couldn't do anything about it. In this situation, being described as a kitten was a perfect analogy. It was like he was being held up by his scruff. A situation he was all too familiar with.

Emily dragged Skyler's body onto the grass nearby. Shortly after, she leaned him against something hard. He wasn't sure what type of tree it was, but it was definitely a tree. That was when he felt something odd. Her hand touched his right inner thigh. "Don't get excited. I'm just checking something before we portal out of here." Her hand slowly ran along his right inner thigh before doing the same to his other inner thigh. Although it felt nice, nothing she could do could possibly arouse him right now. Due to his paralysis, he was literally unable to do so. As she distracted him, he could barely hear her etching something in the bark of the tree behind him.

Emily's cheek gently touched Skyler's as she whispered into his ear. "Well, at least I know you're not easily aroused." Her score ticked up to 15. "Maybe you have potential after all." He was quite confused by her words, but that train of thought was knocked out of his head when the air around them changed and a new notification appeared in the center of his view.

Skyler was not amused by Gaia's sense of humor. It was clear that he had been kidnapped once again. Seriously, if this trend continued he was going to end up feeling like a true damsel in distress. Wait, he wasn't becoming someone like Princess Peach, was he? Hmm, perhaps this is why she relies on Mario. He could imagine that there was only so many times you can escape from the same dungeon and the like before you get tired of it. Before he knew it, he was laying on the grass once again. The sound of hooves trotting over caught his attention. "Oh Gaia, what happened to him? He's absolutely drenched."

As Skyler listened to Shady's words, he could hear Emily walking away. This was followed by a light smacking sound and a giggle. "I think your fragile prince is in need of mouth to mouth. Better get to it, your majesty." Shady gasped. "That's not funny!" Emily giggled while walking away. "Oh yes it is." He could hear Shady's hooves trotting closer. "He just needs help once again. I, I don't need to do anything perverse..." However, after he heard the grass being crushed underneath her when she sat down beside him. He didn't hear anything else. This gave him and eerie amount of time to wonder what she was doing.

Was Shady actually entertaining the idea of kissing Skyler? Or was she simply trying to calm herself before casting a spell to relieve his ailment?
