Hole 1

The mini golf course had been a bit of an afterthought for the club. For the many years after the club had been founded it was only the main golf course, but as time rolled on and the club got bigger more things had been added. The clubhouse had grown. The tennis courts and pool had been added for members' families to enjoy.

About 5 years ago they had added the mini golf course under pressure to add more family friendly activities. They had found a space near the employee parking lot and just off the 13th fairway to put it. They’d crammed the 18 holes in without much thought to making it fancy and whimsical like some mini golf courses with windmills and trick holes. But they had added plenty of water features and rolling slopes to make it challenging all the same. They’d also added lights so they could keep it open longer in the evenings. It allowed them to keep the course open later for members' kids to enjoy while they got drunk in the clubhouse up the road.

As the foursome walked up to the first hole Amy was nervous. She’d always thought she was decent at mini golf and had played the course several times this summer with friends. She hoped that would help her, though she knew that both Clay and Carson played real golf well.

“Ladies first.” Clay gestured and at a nod from Tiff Amy laid her ball down first. She took a deep breath and hit the blue ball she had selected up high on to one of the artificial ridges that had been constructed and watched as it arched back down towards the hole. The ball rolled fast just missing the hole. Amy groaned at her initial luck but then celebrated as it bounced off the bricks that were the outline of the hole coming to a stop right next to the white cup.

“I think you can go ahead and finish that up.” Carson joked as Amy practically skipped to the ball and tapped it in. Unless everyone else got a hole in one she’d put off having to strip first.

Tiff confirmed that she’d been spared as she sent her shot too strong out of bounds and had to take a stroke penalty. Carson and Clay followed with their tee shots. Clay following Amy’s lead and ending close to the hole for a two. Carson just missed a short putt to tie but ended with a three. Tiff unable to overcome her miserable first shot tapped in for a 5.

“Well Tiff. You get to do us the honor of stripping first. What’s it gonna be?” Clay teased as he looked at the brunette.

The foursome were all wearing basically the same thing. The club work uniform was pretty similar for both guys and girls. They all had on the white polo with the club logo on it. Then they all were wearing tennis shoes with socks. Amy, Clay, and Carson all wore khaki shorts while Tiff wore the black skirt anyone who worked in the restaurant had to wear.

“My first choice may surprise you.” Tiff said with that smile as she kicked off her shoes.

“Shoes? We’re shocked.” Joked Carson.

“Not shoes… socks!” Tiff said as she slipped off the white socks and then slipped back on her shoes. “Where should I put these?” She asked holding up the pair.

“Leave them right next to the hole you lost them on. That way we all have to run back through the course at the end to collect them.” The group stared at Amy. Even she was surprised at her suggestion. The confidence from the first hole filling her with excitement.

“There you go Ames. Now you’re getting into it!” Tiff cheered as she laid her socks by the first hole and the group moved on.
