Follow him up, or keep talking here?
Hold him up
I walked to the edge of the elevator, in front of the detector that would keep the door open.
"I need to know what you're thinking." I said. "Please, don't play silent, I need to know what you're gonna do." And also, what am I gonna do?
"Let's sit and talk then" he suggested.
I stepped in and he led me to his apartment. Not knowing what to do with myself, I sat on the couch that I found in the living room. Gabriel took his time removing his jacket, shoes, then went to pour himself a glass of water that he drank before bringing me one too. He sat on an armchair across from me.
I had a sip of water. He wasn't talking, just staring. Do I have to make my defense now? Should I try to pity him?
