The ravens are getting too close and you know you can't get to her without getting in the way yourself. Unable to process any thoughts, you do the one thing that feels natural; you drop to the ground, covering your head.

You hear Doe shriek in terror as the lead raven's talons dig into her body. They dash up into the air, carrying their prey along with them. They caw loudly before tossing Doe into the air and tearing her apart. You look on in horror as they begin to devour the small bird before looking away in disgust. It is over in a matter of seconds and the ravens soon depart into the sky, leaving no remenants of Doe.

You stare at the birds' shrinking forms as they fly away. You are amazed that they left you alone and only went after Doe. That's when you realize that you are stuck here now. Without Doe, you have no way of leaving this world. You are stuck her forever, alone.

The full weight of what has happened hits you and you collapse onto the ground. She's dead because you couldn't react fast enough. Guilt and shame mix with sorrow and it all strikes you at once, and your heart drops into your stomach. Your world begind to collapse around you. At this point, it almost doesn't matter what happens or what you do. You simply don't care. You sit on the thorn stem, staring blankly at the sky as the sun disappears for view.

Maybe, just maybe, you'll learn to live with what you've done and the new world you are **** to live in. But you doubt it.
