What Does Lana Lang Want To Do?

Hit Some Targets

The Mossberg 590 boomed in the night. A spread of holes appeared in the chest of the paper target tacked to the board.

The shooting range was on the outskirts of Metropolis, and this late at night there was nobody there except Lois and Lana and a couple of off-duty Metropolis police officers. The reporter admired her new girlfriend's way around the gun; it was clear she'd had some experience with weapons...observed the right safety protocols, never pointed it at anyone, and her aim was pretty good too.

Lois Lane's father, the general, had insisted his girls learn the basics of firearms: how to handle them safely, how to shoot. She doubted she could disassemble an M1 blindfolded, and she no longer owned a gun of her own, but the reporter could still get a tight group at fifty yards with a Sig Sauer M18...and did so.

Lana for her part smiled, having a blast. Lois wondered at the dates in Smallville, that saw a boy and a girl go off together in the woods to knock cans off a log with a .22 rifle or something. As foreplay went, Lois wasn't sure if she was having as much fun as Lana Lang...but there is something heart-pounding about squeezing a trigger and feeling the gun push back against you as a bullet goes down-range.

When they were done, Lana's cheeks were flushed and her hair was a bit of a mess from where the earmuffs had pressed it down to the side, and she hooked her arm in Lois Lane's own. Instinctively, Lois pressed her palm against the other woman's and their fingers intertwined, clasped tight. It was the first time Lois had ever held hands with a woman before.

"Any other Smallville courting traditions we should observe?" Lois asked.

The redhead's grin faded a little...and turned into a wicked smile.

"Yes...but we're going to need to stop at the liquor store and the grocery store on our way back to your apartment."

"That sounds promising," Lois said, as she wondered what Lana had in store for them next.
