Americans, late as ever

• In world war I, they joined the front in 1917, three years after the start of the war.
• In world war II, they joined Europe with convoys earlier but real troops poured in around 1943 with the invasion of North-Africa and Italy. Sure they had their own problems too, countering the invasion by Japan.
• In world war III, it is expected they immediately will be of assistance, as there are now about 40.000 US-soldiers in parts of Europe. Would the Russians invade Ukraine, I expect that number to go up significantly. Because of the large logistical operation, coming from such a large distance, only their air power will be of importance. One would expect the massive number of extra boots on the ground only after a few weeks or a month, if the Russians invaded Europe for real.

For once the politicians in my country took immediate and forceful actions.
