His mom thinks he should work to pay for them

"K-T, you need to learn that money isn't something that grows on trees. You refused to look for a job so far and I doubt many businesses will consider hiring you like you are, but you need to work and come up with the money by yourself." decided his mom. K-T was frightened, she had that tone she always had when she had taken a decision she would come back on, no matter how insane it was.

"Mom, you said it yourself. I won't find work like that. I need at least some clothes so I can look for a job and help pay you back." he explained.

"No, I know you too well, son. The second you get some clothes for free again you will slack off and do anything to make sure you don't find a job."

"It's a catch 22, I can't get a job without clothes and I can't get clothes without a job. What do you expect me to do? I can't around knocking on door to door to ask people if they want to hire a naked dude with his dick stuck in pink plastic!" he screamed and almost choked on his words. The last sentence had barely left his lips that he felt a ball in his throat and a knot in his stomach, he instantly regretted having uttered it. His mother hated when he contradicted her or screamed at her.

"You know what? It's exactly what you will do. You will go up and down the street knocking on every single door to ask them if they have any chores that they are willing to pay you to do. And you will explain to them why you do it and why you are dressed like that doing it. And you will do that every day until you leave for college or you have reimbursed me for the destroyed washer, after that you can continue to buy yourself some clothes." She sentenced him, turning his bout of outrage against him.

"Please mom, no. Can I at least buy the clothes first? I have some money even if it's little, but I don't need much more to buy at least something to cover myself. I swear I'll continue after that for the washer." he pleaded, knowing full well that opposing the core idea was pointless. But he could maybe make it less horrible.

"You will do as I told you. And you will give me that money as your first payment for the washer. It's the last money you have will have received from me for a long time. You will start right away, there some time left. Emily will accompany you to make sure that you present things correctly and report to me if she sees you refusing any work given to you. Sorry to bother you with this dear, but I don't trust him to do it on his own."
