Chapter 5 by MrChyoo MrChyoo

Where to next?

His house

There was a companionable silence as you headed back to town, only broken by the occasional piece of information about a building, or tree, or a planned building, or tree. You realized at that moment that you didn’t really want to leave, that this place had grown on you so fast, and you desperately wanted to see what it was like when the dream finally became reality for these people.

As you realize this, he breaks you out of your reverie by telling you that you had reached his home. You looked to your left and there stood the most adorable log cabin you have ever seen, and its size surprised you. “This whole place is yours?” “Surprised that it looks like a real house and not like Lincoln’s log cabin?” That smile again, this time it shows off his pride. “If I’m being honest, yes. I imagined you all living in either shared buildings or individual huts. Your house looks completely normal.”

As you walked in, you were truly taken aback by the craftsmanship. The floors were a gorgeous cherry oak, and the walls were a very refined mixture of some sort of yellowish wood planks and larger logs. What you didn’t expect was the stone work. There was an impressive fireplace in the main room that looked like it jumped straight out of a magazine. The tour he gives you is short, but you see enough very quickly.

Running water, working electricity, a television of all things, he even has a billiard table and a bar. The kitchen is fully stocked, the bedrooms are very masculine but cozy. You almost fuck him on the spot when you see the waterfall shower and the elegant looking tub. As you work your way back to the dining room, you only have one question you can think to ask “Your home is breathtaking. How long did it take to build?” He looked a bit nervous as he said “Well to tell the truth, for most of our buildings we contracted carpenters and the like from the outside. We only have so many members at the moment, but luckily old Mr. O’Donnel still has connections from his days as an electrician. We paid for parts and labor at no upcharge, and he did the rest.”

You were stunned. The same Mr. O’Donnel that needed a cane to get around, managed to build all of these houses, or at least assist in a big way? It seemed ridiculous. Then again, as you chuckle to yourself, this whole commune seemed ridiculous. “Why are you laughing? Don’t tell me you’re not a fan of the décor?” That grin again. Sometimes it denoted humor, sometimes it seemed to show pride, but this time, no this time it looked like it showed him for who he really is, a leader.

“Oh no, I was just thinking about how insane this whole place seems. It feels like it fell right out of fairy tale.” He grin turned into one of aggression, of someone sensing an opportunity. “Fairy tales are make believe. Not to put extra pressure on this date, but if you are interested in living here, even if as just a sort of trial, we can absolutely make that happen.” Your heart fluttered as he said that. You had only been here maybe a total of 10 hours, and that time was split between two days.

You knew now that you had been searching for this place all along, when the big city turned into your hell on earth and running away was all you could think to do, you could never have dreamed it would lead you here…and you never would have guessed it would lead to him. You’re stronger than this though, you need to make him want it as bad as you do. “I don’t know… that would be a hell of a life choice wouldn’t it? What will I do on Sundays if I can’t watch football?” You don’t even know if he’ll understand you’re joking, but a part of you knows that you’re not. “Oh so you’re a sports fiend huh? I knew I liked you. We don’t get cable out here, but we do have some basic internet capabilities. You don’t think I would have moved out here and miss out on what my Bills do each week do you?” Your banter isn’t between that of two people who just met, it’s between two souls who were bound to find one another.

“How about I make you a deal Mr. Young? If you give me a good enough reason to stay, I’ll move in next week.” The grin again, this time like a predator, ready to strike. “Sounds like a deal to me, but I’d like to change one little thing.” He moves towards you with a purpose, with a goal. Your breath catches as he puts his hand on your cheek, and then you nuzzle into it knowing what ever comes next, you want it more than anything.

His face is only inches from yours at this point, and his breath smells like peppermint. “If I give you a good enough reason to stay, you move in with me next week.” No grin this time. His face is stone, yet you know he means it. “How about we skip dinner then, and you give me that good reason right now.” He smiles the warmest smile you’ve ever seen and says “Yes ma’am.”
