Chapter 2
by Nyahahameha
What game will Button Mash play today?
His current favourite MMORPG: Heroes of Runeside
Eyeing the PC tower beneath the shelf the TV monitor sat upon, Button's smile widened further as he came to his decision. The next moments saw him turning the PC on, then setting up a tray to hold his mouse and keyboard above his lap, and placing his earphone plus microphone headset on himself, before finally clicking the icon for the game he had in mind and logging into his account.
"Heroes of Runeside released a new raid dungeon this week, if I remember right. Should see if my guild has enough members online to try it out."
A brief thought was given to the irony of choosing to play an MMO after celebrating the lack of a need to interact with other ponies today, but Button quickly brushed it off, since most ponies spent a lot less time praising his mom's name while engaged in games. Instead, he focused his attention on turning his social connections into power, like a real Persona protagonist.
It took less than half an hour to gather enough members for the raid party - 12 in total - and into the dungeon they went. The creators of the game had designed a beautifully ornate map, fitting for a place named "God's Toolshed" and the party spent some time marveling at the artistry after entering. Button - or, as his in-game name read, "Grey of Runelift Isle" - did his part as one of the party's tanks very well, carefully managing how much aggro he was drawing from enemies and slowing his use of active skills when the healers needed time to heal other players so as to not overwhelm them. His party's other members were no slouch either, "CarianRoyal" doing a splendid job of waiting for tanks to group up enemies before letting loose with AOE spells, "PCWhiteHeart" managing her healing spells well to avoid minimize cooldowns and casting times, and "Runeless Knight Davan" dealing splendid amounts of damage by smartly chaining his single-target offensive skills back-to-back and using the cooldown times to restore his MP with passive on-hit skills. Through it all, the party kept up a fun and supportive rapport over voice chat.
By 10:45 AM the party had made it to the boss room on the dungeon's final floor. The party of 12 players moved their cameras around, a tenseness in the virtual air as they waited for the boss to make its appearance.
"If this place is "God's Toolshed", then obviously whichever god it belongs to is gonna' show up and smite us for tresspassing," speculated PCWhiteHeart as she glanced at her MP bar once more just to be sure it was full.
"But the dungeon was full of monsters from Runelesside. So it'll probably be another one of Shihagen's Warlock Council members," Runeless Knight Davan pointed out, sticking by Grey of Runelift Isle's side.
After a pause, Button spoke. "...Whatever it is, someone probably has to step forward to activate the cutscene, so..." He moved his character forward from the party's spawn point, and sure enough, a cutscene started on all of the player's screens, signaled by the screen fading into and out of black. The cinematic started by showing the entire circular platform and the players' characters standing on it, surrounded as it was by eight golden pillars and a sea of clouds, as the rich sound of an adult woman's laughter echoed from above, drawing the camera to pan towards its source.
"...Oh no." Button recognized that laugh, he realized as his heart sank into his stomach.
The silhouetted figure descended from the blue sunlit sky, and fell past the platform and into the clouds.
"Dude, relax, we wiped the floor with the dungeon. This boss'll be cake!" CarianRoyal said, trying to reassure the concerned-sounding Grey of Runelift Isle.
The clouds next to the platform erupted, obscuring the enormous being that had risen from them for the few moments it took for them to fall back into the sea the being now stood in. And as they did fall, they revealed a creamy tan coat, large round eyes of blue, and light brown hair tied into a ponytail slung over the right shoulder. Every player in the party quickly realized who the five story tall mare displayed on their screens was.
"Wait, the Goddess is the boss?"
"Th-that's Goddess Cream Heart!" gasped CarianRoyal.
"Wait, did the devs put her in the game, or did she put her in the game?"
"Whoa, look at how well her boobs are textured!" observed Runeless Knight Davan.
"Wait, won't this raise HoR's age rating?"
"Mom?!"
Suddenly, the entire party went silent.
"...Was that you, Grey?"
"Greetings, my little ponies!" Cream Heart said, arms held slightly outward in a gentle, welcoming gesture. "I hope you've been enjoying your game time this morning - afternoon, night, whatever time it is where you are. I'm sure you'll enjoy it even more now that I've personally graced you all with a chance to have a boss fight against me."
The players' screens faded in and out of black once more, and their cameras were once more locked onto their own characters, signalling the end of the cutscene.
"And, er, as for you, "Grey of Runelift Isle", I was going to preserve your anonymity amongst your peer group, but you've...kind of already demolished it, so...Why don't I just...give you and your friends a moment to clear the air?"
Cream Heart's body moved away from the platform - out of even the spellcasters' attack ranges, and simply waited. This prompted the members who had buff skills to start casting them while they talked.
"Dude, did you seriously just call her "mom"?" PCWhiteHeart asked in a hushed voice, as if whispering would make her voice inaudible to Cream Heart.
Button's fingers hovered over the keyboard. He was seriously considering just hitting alt and f4 right then and there. But...his mom probably wouldn't make it that easy. He knew from the handful of times she'd done this sort of thing before that if he quit the game, she'd still be there next time he played it. And some part of him would feel bad for leaving his friends to deal with her...mood without him.
"...Yeah, I did. She's my mom."
"No way! We've got Button Mash in our party?!"
"No wonder your drops always seem that little bit better than ours," quipped CarianRoyal.
"Cheater!"
"Dude, he can't control who his mom is, ease off on the guy," chided Davan.
"Okay, so she put herself in the game?"
"Yeah," Button answered. "And she's probably not gonna' leave it until we...uh..."
"Make her orgasm a bunch of times, right?" PCWhiteHeart interjected.
Several players swiveled their cameras to focus on her character's model, a bit shocked by the ease with which she'd said that.
"...What? It's what I'd do if I had goddess powers."
"It seems you're all sufficiently up to speed on the situation," Cream Heart said, her voice echoing through each player's speakers instead of their headset. Her in-game model moved next to the platform, once more entering the characters' attack ranges. "And thank you for being such good friends for my wonderful little boy."
"Moooom, I'm not your little boy, I'm nineteen!"
Cream Heart continued talking over the snickers. "You'll always be mommy's little boy no matter how much time passes, sweetie. Now come use your Provocation skill so your friends can land some of those pleasant-feeling active skills without worrying about my aggro."
Gritting his teeth, Button relented, knowing that he had to do just that before she used some strange sexual attack to wipe the entire party at once or something. As his character approached the belly button of the in-game depiction of his mom, he swiveled the camera upward, seeing that, like always, her bare breasts obscured the view of her face from directly below.
How does that view make him feel?

Button's Mom is a Literal Goddess
"Escapism" can't help him escape from her
Your name is Button Mash, 19 year old college freshman. And your mom just happens to be a literal goddess. Omnipotence and everything. Day in and day out you are constantly bombarded with reminders that your mom is the most powerful being in existence. You're hoping today will be a break from that, given it's the weekend and you plan to hole up in your dorm room and while away the entire day with your favorite pastime: gaming. It's the most reliable escape you have from your mom's otherwise all-encompassing influence, but much like a Pokemon move, if the accuracy isn't 100, it might as well be 0.
