His crush Lily

When he saw the caller ID, he involuntarily started smiling before immediately calling her back. She picked up on the second ring, and excitedly said hi to K-T. Lily told him she had gone by his house but no one was home. He explained how he was house sitting for the summer and his family was on vacation. Just then, a brilliant idea came to him, and he invited Lily over to the house to hang out for the day, letting her know about the pool and theater. He would be able to be alone with her and with none of his meddling family getting in the way. “I’d love to”, Lily responded “How about the day after tomorrow?”. “It’s a date” K-T responded, before stumbling back over the word date, not wanting to be presumptuous. Lily giggled a little before saying goodbye and hanging up.

K-T couldn’t stop smiling. He was going to spend the whole day alone with Lily. He started imagining everything that could happen, when he got a text. Looking at his phone he saw it was from Penny asking him to mow her lawn the next day. Looking forward to the extra money, K-T happily agreed. After putting down his phone, he thought about his plans over the next two days and his dwindling wardrobe. Going back to the basement, he brought up the box of clothes and combined it with what he had in his room. Looking in the closet, he found hidden in the corner the shorts that Sandra had relocated. Putting everything together he decided to set aside the swim trunks and shorts for his date with Lily along with one of the button-down shirts. Not wanting to risk them ahead of time, he did not want to wear them to mow Penny’s lawn. That only left the pink pajama shorts, or the sweatpants to wear. Neither seemed like a good option since it was far too hot for sweatpants, and the pajamas were extremely embarrassing. Putting on one of the large tank tops of Mary’s ex, he found it reached almost to his knees. He felt he would be safe without shorts if he put on some underwear just in case. Pulling out the thongs from his aunt, he put on the blue one, but saw that it was so dark the outline was visible through the tank top. Not wanting to show off his skimpy underwear, K-T switched to the yellow one to be less noticeable.

Taking everything off, he put it all carefully in the dresser drawer before heading downstairs for a late dinner, and to let out Satan. Coming back up to his bedroom, he looked out the window at the pool, and thought he saw something yellow on top of the rocks, but assumed it was his imagination before getting into bed and falling asleep.
