Hillary

“Well you see I kinda lost a forfeit to one of the soccer girl’s the other day and she wants me to make her dinner that night.”

“Do you think you could stop by after? There are two girls who I’m sure are gong to be trouble.”

“I’ll try but even if I don’t make it I’m sure you’ll be fine.”

With that the two of you finish lunch and head back to your respective classes. The rest of the day goes well and you decided to try a forfeit bet at practice today. Hillary had been so engrossed with planning your welcome party, as well as several other activities, that she had been spending as much time on her cell phone as in the pool this week, so you figure that you can challenge her to a race and get her to stay off the phone today.

When you arrive at the pool Hillary is once again on her phone sitting at the edge of the pool dangling her feet in the water. Sighing you walk up behind her and clear your throat.

“Hi coach Doe”, she says looking up and goes back to her phone conversation.

“Hillary you need to get off the phone practice is about to start.”

“I’ll be there in a sec coach I’m just talking to my friend about picking up the keys for Friday.”

“I tell you what, how about we have a little race? If I win you forfeit your phone for the rest of practice.”

Hillary arches an eyebrow as a small smile forms on her lips. “Nikki”, she says into her cell, “let me call you back.” She then stands up and begins to stretch “well since you challenged me how about letting me pick the race, you know give me a bit of a chance?”

“Ok, that sounds fair enough”. With the lack of effort she has been putting in this week you feel confident that you can take her in any type of race she picks.

“Alright then hundred meter freestyle.”

As the two of you mount the starting blocks Erin grabs a stop watch and says “On your marks, get set, GO!!”
