Chapter 214 by ArthurBalfour ArthurBalfour

What happens next?

High school reunion.

The years flew by, and soon I was turning 29 and planning for our high school reunion. I'd made enough money that we'd moved closer to our hometown, kept in shape, and provided for Amy to get back into dancing.

Of course, gathering our friends had proved impossible. Corrine was flying around the world for photoshoots and Stephanie kept moving for her opportunities. We saw Talia, Rachel, and their young daughter for playdates with Adam. But although Elizabeth lived closer, work and family life kept us too busy to see her. We swore, all of us, to make it for the ten year high school reunion. Coincidentally, the event was scheduled for my birthday.

Walking into the reunion, I was more filled with joy than I had been since my son was born. Suddenly, there we all were, like no time had passed at all. My wife and I had dressed plainly, Amy in a functional green blouse and beige slacks (that still didn't hide her trim and trained physique or her striking red hair), and me in a dark suit with an open collar.

Of course, Talia had dressed to flaunt her assets. Her loose, red blouse floated over her firm chest, tucked into a tight, black miniskirt. No bra, I noticed. Her smooth, bare legs were almost totally exposed. Bright red lipstick matched her blouse. She'd chopped her long locks into an edgy shorter style that accented her long neck and collarbones and dyed it rich burgundy. Rachel had elected for a slim, black, backless cocktail dress, fishnet stockings, and flats.

She was keeping her eyes on Elizabeth, who stunned in a yellow that showed a generous amount of cleavage, tucked into a sexy librarian pencil skirt. Elizabeth kept whispering back and forth with Stephanie. The actress's navy blue turtleneck was stretched tight over her feminine curves. A white, leather miniskirt and matching go-go boots completed her retro look. Corrine had opted for a violet scoop-neck dress, modest by her standards but low-cut enough to attract attention. The color offset her blonde tresses, the height of taste.

We stayed at the reunion only long enough to get all caught up, then went back to our place for drinks and desserts. Amy and I had sent Adam over to Talia and Rachel's with the babysitter.

"It's kinda sad," Stephanie volunteered, "that it took a school reunion to bring us back together."

Amy re-entered with a beautiful homemade cake. She'd become an accomplished baker and cook, in a surprise turn. The cake had 29 candles and looked like it was ready to burn the house down. The girls sang "Happy Birthday" and then each (except Rachel) surprised me with a peck on the lips. It was just barely enough to remind me of old times. I quickly made my wish and blew out the candles.

We settled with mixed drinks and wine in the den. I had the seat of honor, in a cushy armchair opposite a couch loaded down with beautiful women: Corrine, Elizabeth, and Stephanie. Talia had Rachel in her lap on a loveseat, and Amy lay on the carpet at my feet.

"You guys look amazing. Really. Hotter than hot. Bizarre to think that you three have stayed single. I bet Ian's been checking you out all night. Haven't you, honey?" My wife's green eyes gazed up at me from my knee.

What can he say to that?
