Hiding in the Theatre

“L-look!” I dropped my rope and grabbed Mimi’s arm. “The club is gone, this is our chance to escape!” Remembering what Mimi said earlier, I took off running towards the theater hoping to find some spare clothing. Thankfully, our downhill derby left us near the building, so it was a short sprint.

“W-wait up!” Mimi cried out. I grunted as I **** my arms to drag her along. “My legs are like jelly, I can’t run so fast!” she complained, but I could barely hear her over the jeers and whistles of the crowd. Mimi really needs to do some more exercise.

I slammed the door open with my shoulder and practically tossed Mimi inside. For once on this miserable day, we got lucky! We were alone in the dressing rooms of the theater. The showers were at our left, the stage at our right. From the sound coming that way, it seemed like the drama club was practicing, so we had to be quiet.

I went to the lockers, opening them up to choose which jacket to borrow. “Mimi, this seems just like your size… Mimi?” I turned around and realized that I was alone. Where did Mimi go? My heart dropped as my ears picked up the sound of running water. That nincompoop! I swear, she has the survival instincts of a drunk lemming.

I tiptoed to the showers, where, sure enough, Mimi was taking a bath. The hot water cascaded down her dark hair and around her curvy chest. Steam rose from the floor. “Ahh, I needed that.”

”Mimi! What are you doing?! Get out of there!”

“I’m c-cold and sweaty! I need to take a hot shower.”

“You can take it back on the apartment!”

“Why? There is a shower right here.”

“Because-“

“Well, well, well. Looks like someone jumped into the lion’s den.” I bit my lip. Too late. The exit was blocked by a herd of animals, or rather, people dressed like they were going undercover in the jungle. There was a leering zebra man, and a pair of twin smiling hyenas, but the one that caught my eye was the leading lioness, a svelte blonde with a fake mane around her head.

“And you guys thought the Lion King rehearsal was going to be boring today. Jhon, go tell the rest of the Mimi club that we found their missing fly, right in our little web.”
