Hide in the Art Exhibit

The art exhibit!

Charolette could hide out in her place of work. People often leave coats behind, maybe she’s be lucky and use one as cover.

Listening careful to make sure she didn’t hear any noises that night indicated another person, Charolette tiptoes down the hall towards the stair case. The exhibit was on the bottom floor right by the main entrance of the building. Charolette was currently in the second floor.

She got to the stair case and paused, keeping an ear out for any noise. She didn’t hear anything so she peered down the stairs. Unfortunately because the stairs were broken in two sections between floors, she couldn’t see if the coast was clear. But having not heard anything, she took the chance.

She practically crawled down the steps. When she finally got to the landing between floors, she crouched behind the banister and turned her head around the corner. She had a clear view down the corridor; no sign of anyone else.

All of the sudden the sound of a door slamming echoed from above, followed by footsteps. Charolette estimated it to be coming from the third floor. And then the footsteps started descending. They were coming down the stairs! Charolette had to move fast.
