Hide behind the door, intending to pin the first person down and tie them up so you can escape.

You hide behind the door, heart pounding.

Then you realise that they're probably going to spend time in the kitchen first, so you listen carefully to see if the chance to escape arises.

It doesn't.

You hear her putting stuff away, you hear him use the bathroom then go back down. Then you finally hear footsteps coming up the stairs, the door swings open and as someone enters you pounce from behind, knocking them to their knees and getting them in a hold so they can't scream.
