Chapter 5 by gramana gramana

What's next?

Her next meeting

In a few minutes, Jennifer's phone beeped, warning her of another upcoming meeting. She grimaced. Of all the days for half her outfit to go missing, it had to be on an appointment-filled one like today. She shifted in her seat again, glad she'd managed to adjust her desk a few degrees, keeping it very much between her and the glass walls of her office.

Still, she looked carefully over to the window - they were a few floors up, and maybe her thigh wasn't the part of her body she was shyest of, but she wasn't exactly proud of being sans pants at work.

She fired off a quick text to Nikki, asking for her when she was back from whatever filing she was doing. Hopefully Nikki could help; Jen didn't want to go hunting for clothes outside her office until she, well, had clothes.

Until then she just had to try and focus on work as though she wasn't too close to flashing her panties to her clients.

"Miss Walters?"

"Come in!" Jennifer said, as smoothly as she could.

There were two people in the doorway. Jen shuffled again, suppressing her usual instinct to get up and walk over to shake their hands. Instead, she stuck her arm out a little awkwardly over the desk, and waited for them to enter. The man and woman approached, the woman shaking her hand first.

"Oh, wow, you really are green," she said excitedly, shaking Jen's hand with both of her own.

"Katy!" the man said.

"She is," Katy said. "It's kinda cool."

The man sighed, as the two sat down on thefar side of Jennifer's desk. Jen breathed a silent sigh of relief - it was always a bit nerve-wracking with people standing up in her office, increased height made it feel like it was too easy for them to look down behind her desk.

"Hi, I'm Shang-Chi," he said. "So, er, Wong recommended us to you."

"How can I help?" Jennifer said.

"Apparently we're being investigated for, er, aiding and abetting a terrorist group," Shang-Chi said.

Jennifer blinked. She looked from him, to the dorkily grinning Katy next to him, and back.

"Uh-huh. Wouldn't have called that," Jennifer said.

"It's not his fault," Katy said insistently. "Sure, his dad was the Mandarin, but you can't choose who your parents are, and we helped stop them! Just because his sister took over and we accidentally helped her with that, and-"

"Okay, slow down," Jennifer said. She paused. "Okay, step one, the Mandarin? That guy who kidnapped the President a few years ago?"

"Not... technically," Shang-Chi said. "Someone took his name."

"Yeah. Trevor's a pretty nice guy though, we're good with him," Katy said. "Bit weird, but I can respect it. I can phone him up if it'll help the case?"

"It really won't," Jennifer said. She blinked, then exhaled. "Wong always brings in the interesting cases. Sounds like it's just a... lot of associations, can probably angle for a bench trial."

She shifted a little, trying to focus on the unexpectedly messy case before her. Still, they were sitting, they weren't causing a scene, this was probably going to go fine.

Nikki hummed to herself, bringing a folder back to her desk. She glanced into Jennifer's office, frowning - had she moved her desk? Oh, well, whatever. Nikki sat down, prepared to look through the files.

Then she frowned as she saw a pair of black pants draped on her desk. Bemused, she lifted them up with one hand, tilting her head. The summoning stone rocked on her desk, looking more like an ornate paperweight than anything magical.

"Well that's random," Nikki said.

She swept them off her desk, holding them and letting them drop. She raised an eyebrow.

"Huh. Pretty big," Nikki said. "Still weird. Is this all?"

She looked under her desk, and peered into her drawers, then shrugged.

"At least it's better than someone leaving their underwear around the office again," Nikki murmured.

The stone sparkled briefly. She missed it, busy leaving the pants folded to the side, dropping her folder on top of a newly-appearing set of bra and panties. If she'd turned around, she might have noticed Jen's expression suddenly look a little more panicked.

"Wait, you murdered a guy?" Jennifer said. "Okay I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that, and Katy, please, I am begging you to not get called as a witness."

"Okay. Fair," Katy said.

"Otherwise, there's nothing that seems too incriminating, just circumstantial stuff that looks bad, but we ought to be able to expose- ah!" Jennifer began.

Then she squeaked. Suddenly things felt different, again. The slight, comforting snugness of her panties was replaced with the distinct feeling of her office chair against her bare ass, and she didn't need to look down to know that if she stood up, she'd see more than just her legs exposed.

And her chest felt... freer. She shifted her shoulder experimentally, and almost grabbed herself before realising how that would look - wait, how had her bra vanished from under her shirt? And her panties too? She had on a button-up shirt, suit jacket, shoes, and apparently that was all.

She was at work! She didn't want to deal with her clothes vanishing.

"Are you okay?" Shang-Chi said.

He leaned forwards. Jennifer swallowed another squeak, shuffling awkwardly under the desk.

Her panties had been embarrassing, but at least had offered some scrap of modesty. Now, though, there was no way she could tug her shirt low enough to hide her butt. Jen bit her lip.

"Fine! Sorry, pins and needles," Jennifer said quickly. "You know how it is, sitting in place all day. Caught me by surprise."

"I don't mind if you want to pace while we talk," Shang-Chi said. Jennifer's eyes widened.

"Er, no, no, I'm fine here," Jen said quickly.

"You're sure?"

"Very sure!" Jennifer said. "So, er, where were we?"

She risked a glance down, under cover of examining her files. Yep, there really was nothing on her lower half just now. She drew her legs closer to her chair, as if occupying less space would make a difference. She did her best to tug down the sides of her shirt, but they still left most of her thighs bared, and left an undeniable curve of firm green bared as she sat on her chair.

She adjusted, again, fidgeting and giving a nervous glance towards the window. They were several floors up. Okay, crazy stuff happened, but no one would be seeing her from that angle, right?

"So everyone in your immediate family is a terrorist," Jennifer said, slowly.

"Pretty much!" Katy said cheerfully.

"I wouldn't put it like-" Shang-Chi began. He sighed. "Yeah. I guess so."

"Ah. Okay," Jennifer said. She grimaced. She could really do with more cases today that didn't need her to pay attention.

Okay, so long as they stayed where they were...
