Her mother

Outside Lauren’s house, a car pulled into her drive way. The car door opened and out stepped Lauren’s mother, Edith. Edith closed the car door as she walked up to Lauren’s front door, the older woman intending on surprising her daughter with a visit. She knew that it was Lauren’s day off, so what better way to spend it with her.

As she reached the door, she knocked on it lightly, remembering that Lauren had said that her doorbell was broken. After a few seconds, Edith raised an eyebrow when Lauren didn’t answer. She knocked again, harder this time. Still no answer. The older woman huffed angrily as she reached into her purse to pull out her cellphone, only to stop when she remembered that Lauren had given her and Vanessa a key in case of emergencies.

Pulling the key out of her bag, Edith unlocked the front door and quietly opened it, waltzing right through the doorway as she quietly closed the door behind her. As she entered the foyer, Edith could hear the sounds of splashing, giggling, squeaking, and quacking coming from the kitchen. Curiously, Edith walked into the kitchen…

Only to go wide eyed in frozen shock as she saw her twenty-two-year-old daughter playing with a rubber ducky as she took a bubble bath in the sink! Her jaw fell when she saw Lauren let out a lighthearted laugh as she squeezed the toy repeatedly, even giving it a kiss on the beak. But what was most shocking of all was what was up top…or rather, what wasn’t on top!

“Lauren?!” Edith finally managed to ask; shock evident in her voice.

Lauren paled as she dropped the duck into the water with a small splash, terror etched onto her face when she heard the voice. Turning her head slowly, Lauren could only go wide eyed as she saw her mother standing in the kitchen. Her face turned neon red as she gulped nervously, unsure of how her mother would react to all of this.
