Chapter 37 by GenocideHeart
Who does Tri'lanna suggest?
Her mother, Lady Morianara
"My mother, Lady Morianara, is the head of our house. So I'm sure she might know something." Tri'lanna says, scrunching her nose in scorn, "Assuming she actually talks to us, instead of just ranting about the 'glory of the Elves' or about slaves in general."
Taking you out of your room, she leads you up, up, and up, higher and higher in the mansion until you reach the highest floor of the building. There is only a single doorway here, with walls stretching far off to your left and right.
"Ah....mother likes her privacy. That's the least objectionable thing about her, so I hope you'll forgive her for it." She says, blushing slightly.
Approaching the entrance, your Elven friend raps lightly on the polished wood, "Mother? Are you awake? I was hoping Hans and I could speak to you." Tri'lanna speaks serenely, using a deferential tone you've never heard before.
No answer.
Again she knocks. "Mother?"
No reply. Then, when Tri'lanna is done waiting, she tries to open the door. The doorknob turns noiselessly and opens up, leading to Lady's Morianara's sleeping quarters.
Your eyes bulge out in raw shock. It is so expensively furnished that you think that this room alone holds more value than half of the mansion. Laid out on the floor are a multitude of fine-woven silk carpets, imported from the Sultani Empire, far east. Her huge bed lies atop finely-engraved heartwood, calligraphy and other asthetic designs scawled up the bed posts and along the bed frame. Along the wall are paintings depicting a number of themes, from lewd to the romantic, all of which appear to be originals. If this was your room, you'd never find a reason to leave, but the room is barren, and not a soul stands in it except for you and Tri'lanna.
"That's odd." The elfmaid says, looking around the immense room, "Mother's not here. What could she be doing so late at night?"
You shrug, not any better informed than she is. There's a prickling feeling at the base of your skull though, which makes you suspect that Lady Morianara's disappearance and Ceinwyn's are somehow related.
Tri'lanna taps her chin, pondering her next move. "Well, I suppose there's someone else we can talk to...."
Who does she suggest next?
