What did they say? Or, would you rather hit this from her perspective?
Her Perspective
After pulling into a parking spot at the grocery store, I heave a sigh of relief. I am really surprised that I didn't cause an accident, I am dead tired, like falling asleep at the wheel, tired. Shutting the car off, I close my eyes and try to remember just what the hell I am supposed to be buying. Something for supper, but beyond that I have no clue.
Opening my eyes, I scan the lot. The store is closing soon so not many people are around. My eyes lock on to a tall, dark, and you guessed it, a handsome man walking to his car. The hitch in my breath is involuntary, and my heart skips about 3 beats. The shadowed frame and cadence can belong to nobody other than my ex. I know that body anywhere. Every bend, every arch, every birthmark are mapped into my mind.
Leaning on the window, I call out as I try to regain a normal heart beat.... "Hey!"
