Helps Kelsey(Only if woke up early and talked to her before homeroom)

Jack walks up behind her in a very non-creepy way. "Hey Kelsey, need any help?"

As Jack says that she gets the vending machine to work and turns around, "No need, I got it!" she says with a smile on her face. It seemed like she was always smiling. "Hows your first day going Jack? You getting around okay?"

"Yeah I'm getting around fine," he said looking her up and down. She always seemed in a cheerful mood, her perky tits bounced when we got too excited. That might be reason enough to go see her dancing on Friday. "I don't really know where to sit in the cafeteria though."

"You want to go sit outside? There are some tables out by the football field." she said with enthusiasm.

"Yeah sure why not," he said as he followed her out the back of the school and down to the field. They sat overlooking the field, and what appeared to be a group of guys throwing the ball around.

"So Kelsey I've got a question," he said nervously

"What is it Jack? I'm an open book!"

"How are you always so cheerful all the time, you're just a never ending beam of positivity," he asked. He wasn't hoping to get the answer to life or anything, he was just genuinely curious.

All of sudden, Kelsey's cheerful persona disappeared, and was replaced with sad concern. She stared down at the table.

"I'm sorry," said Jack,"was it something I said?" trying to be as comforting as possible.

"For the longest time I was always this happy, I didn't have worry in the world." her throat caught before she carried on speaking. "Over the summer my grandpa got diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. They say he has 6 months left. Yes he's 82 but he's always been there for me my whole life. I can't imagine him not being there."

Kelsey starts crying in front of Jack, he doesn't know what to do. He thinks it's best just to listen and let her talk it out. It seems she hasn't talked about this with anyone.

"I've always been the happy spunky bouncy girl at school," she said balling her eyes out, "None of my friends know what's going on. So it though that if I just tried to stay positive everything would be fine. I'm sorry," she said wiping her face with her hands, "you must think I'm a mess."

"Nah, you're not one of those ugly criers," he said jokingly, hoping to brighten the mood.

"Oh yeah right," she said jokingly. It seems the joke worked.

"Kelsey," he said, "It's okay to be worried about your grandpa. I know your friends will understand. You just need to talk about these things, it helps. Even if they make you cry in front of people." he said with a smile on his face.

Kelsey smile back at him and sniffed, "Thanks Jack, this helped a lot."

Suddenly and unexpectedly they were holding hands over the table. It wasn't awkward, and neither one of them wanted to let go.

"I'm here if you ever need to talk, " he said rubbing her hand with his thumb.

"Maybe we should exchange numbers then so I can reach you if it's an emergency, " she said jokingly

They exchanged numbers and started walking back to school. Jack hugged her before they went inside, she hugged him really tight around the waist and pressed her head up against his chest.

Jack headed to 6th period, and then finally to 7th period with Ms. Ambers.
