Help Nate and Codsworth.

Nora hid behind the corner and held her baton ready to strike. When the raider rounded the corner she pummeled him in the head, dropping him to the ground. The dog ripped at his throat killing him. She quickly picked up the dead man’s gun. It was a crude weapon made out of scrap metal and pipe, but it would be better than no gun.

She rushed down the street towards the raiders and fired shots at them. She didn’t manage to hit any of them but they ran for cover. Codsworth said, “Give them hell Mam!” as he now rushed towards the raiders. The dog chased a raider down an ally and lunged at him. His muzzle latched down on the man’s groin causing the man to scream. Codsworth’s saw chopped off a raider woman’s hand at the same time his flamer roasted another alive.

Nora managed to reach her husband and pull him behind a rusty old car for safety. There were two bullet wounds in his chest in addition to his leg wound. He spit blood out of his mouth. “Stay alive Nora,” he choked out.

“No,” Nora cried. “I can’t lose you.” But his life was already fading. Codsworth and the dog finished killing the raiders and came to their side.

“Mam,” Codsworth said. “I’m sorry about Mr. Nate, but we should find some shelter for the night.” The sun was lowering on the horizon. Before too long more raiders might come or worse, irradiated creatures.

The man above on the balcony shouted down to Nora. “Hey up here on the balcony. I’ve got a group of settlers inside. The raiders are almost through the door. Grab that laser musket and help us. Please.”

Nora was growing more scared about this new world she was thrust into. If Nate couldn’t manage to survive how was she ever going to find her son? Helping these people would put herself in danger once again, but she may gain some new friends that could protect her.
