In the ancient past of this world, the size of one’s endowments would be a major factor their standing in life. All of the higher status citizens were expected to be hyper-endowed. Nobility and royalty often had endowments that immobilized them. It was a major status symbol to have pinned to the earth by their endowments, as it showed they were rich and powerful enough to have their needs taken care of by their servants.
In the modern era, having your status be based off the size of your endowment is considered to be bigoted and backwards. But in this era, having larger endowments could be more valuable than any riches. There are many tales of peasants rising to nobility, or even royalty due to suddenly blossoming to a massive size. This follows one such tale. Helena was a poor peasant, set to be married off to an equally destitute farmer, until she suddenly started blossoming, at an age far older than expected.
