Chapter 25

Is Adam any closer to appeasing Helen

Helen's guilty conscience

Helen eased back into her body and dismissed the caretaker soul that had been attending to it whilst she was away. She was in the office of the leisure centre and apparently adjusting next month's rota for what felt like the hundredth time. Helen's eyes scanned the screen and she quickly realised that her stand in had solved her work scheduling problem for her. She smiled contentedly and allowed herself to reflect on how the spellbook had changed her life over the last few days.

With the spellbook's powers, Helen could manipulate people to do whatever she wanted to and had mainly used this for her sexual gratification. She chuckled at this thought as she had never really had that strong of a sex drive. Perhaps there was something about having all this power that turned her on? Or maybe it was the book itself that influenced her? Regardless, Helen was having the most fun she'd had in a long time, and the bonus of leaving her body alone to do her work for her made things even better.

Finally her thoughts turned back to Adam. She had been pretty cruel to him recently. Forcing him into the body of their older neighbour and casting a spell that limited his autonomy was maybe a bit harsh. Sure Adam hadn't been as involved with the spellbook as she'd like, but her reaction was now feeling rather overblown. Helen cringed as she remembered that Clive was still in Adam's body and that she'd slept with him. It seemed so exciting at the time, but really, Clive?

"Fuck, this spellbook is driving me loopy," Helen muttered to herself. She reminded herself that it wasn't truly Clive she had slept with. He was in Adam's body after all, and she'd messed with his mind so he was barely himself anyway.

Helen pinched the bridge of her nose and turned her thoughts towards how she could sort things out with Adam. Her shift was almost over, and Adam would still be in Clive's body and likely still at his home. She could drive straight over there and free Adam from the magic that restrained him. Hopefully then he'd forgive her.

Helen pulled up outside her neighbour's house, her heart pounding inside her chest. The thought of Adam being understandably angry at her was all she had really thought about during the drive over. She exited and locked the car, before slowly walking down the pathway to Clive and Donna's house. The thought that she had only recently been here, though not in her own body, briefly crossed her mind. Helen wondered if Adam had enjoyed that experience as much as she had.

At the door, Helen took a deep breath and rung the doorbell. After what felt like an age but was probably only a dozen seconds, 'Clive' opened the door.

"Oh, hello Helen," he said nonchalantly. However his eyes told a different story. Helen was certain she could see some surprise and maybe a little anger in them.

"Hello Clive," Helen replied cautiously. "Am I ok to come in and chat with you for a bit? I think you know what it's about."

"Of course," 'Clive' said, waving Helen in. "I'll get the kettle on."

Helen followed 'Clive' in and made her way to sit in the living room. She thought about releasing Adam from the Thespian spell that **** him to behave like their neighbour, but decided to hold off until he was in the room. Helen shifted uneasily on the sofa and listened to the sounds of 'Clive' preparing their tea. Without meaning to, she found her mind drifting to sexual thoughts about her mature neighbour.

Helen had loved the way Clive had piloted Adam's body and wondered how the reverse would be. As 'Clive' entered the room holding their mugs of tea, Helen eyed up his body. Despite his advanced years, Clive had a pretty decent figure. Sure he had a bit of a belly, but his face was kind and handsome. Helen felt herself blushing as her hand brushed 'Clive's' as she accepted the tea.

"So Helen," 'Clive' said as he sat down, "to what do I owe the pleasure of your company?"

What does Helen say?
