Head home

Josh and Melody head out into the parking lot and hop into their Mom’s car, both in the backseat.

“So, how was school?”

“Fine, nothing too out of the ordinary.” Josh said.

“Actually, it was pretty wild.” Melody started before having her mouth covered by Josh’s hand.

“Melody, you won’t tell Mom about anything that happens in school.”

“Really, that seems kinda dumb.”

“What really happened today?” Their Mom asked.

“Like I said earlier, nothing crazy. Just the usual. Oh, and an unruly student got into trouble and got punished. But again, nothing noteworthy.” Josh said, hoping to quell any further curiosity.

“Good. I’m glad students get punished for their actions. Detention will always straighten a student out.”

“Yeah, something like that.” Josh said.

They pulled into the driveway. Josh made Melody carry both of their backpacks inside. Once inside, Josh made an announcement.

“From now on, you two will not wear any clothes in the house.” Josh declared.

“What!” They both yelled in unison.

“What if I have to answer the door? Or what if we have company over?” Their mom asked.

“Fine, fine. You will not wear clothes when it is just the 3 of us in the house. You can get changed to answer the door and to entertain company.” Josh said.

“And just Mom and I have to be naked?” Melody asked.

“If you really want to see me naked, then sure, I can join you in the naked festivities.” Josh said before removing his shirt.

“That’s not exactly what I meant.” Melody chimed in, also removing her shirt.

After everyone had disrobed, their mom asked, “is there any particular reason for this, Josh?”

“Not really. Just trying out a new lifestyle choice. We should embrace change.”
