What Does She Do Next?
Head Downstairs
Alice went downstairs to have breakfast. Her mother was already there, drinking coffee at the kitchen table. Alice stuck a bowl of oatmeal into the microwave, and poured herself some coffee. Once her food was done, she sat at the table.
“Good morning mom.” She said.
“Good morning sweetheart.”
Her mother was a simple, hardworking woman. She worked as a general physician at a small local clinic. She was much shorter than Alice, with a motherly figure and big brown eyes. She was the kindest person Alice had ever known.
She gripped Alice’s hand gently and smiled at her.
“Are you feeling ok? Nervous?”
Alice nodded. Her mother got up and kissed her on the forehead.
“You’ll be alright. I’m proud of you, you know.”
Alice simply nodded again. She smiled up at her mother and gave her a hug.
Alice’s mother got up and retrieved her keys from the rack above the countertop.
“You’ve got condoms in your purse right? I put a box in your glove compartment just in case if you need them.”
“Yes mom, I’ve got it covered.”
Alice waved as her mother walked out of the door and headed off to work.
Once she was done eating, Alice grabbed her own keys and began the drive to campus.
