‘It’s okay, Tanya. You don’t need to act this way. You’re safe here.’

Dr Jenkins lifted his patients chin to look her in the eyes. It wasn’t exactly madness what he saw. Someone less skilled in human psychology would probably only see the lust. But there was more to it than that. A slight tension in her shoulders. A small twitch in her eyes. Her shallow breating pattern. There was still hope.

But the situation was dire. Every session he’d had with Tanya had resulted in the same disastrous setback.

And for the first time in his career, he had no idea how to proceed. The first step in her healing process would be to let her understand her illness. But this case was unlike any OCD patient he'd seen before. Her compulsions were exclusively focussed on sex. And it was driving her mad.

However frustrating, there was no point in continuing the session when his patient became like this.

Leaving the young woman squirming on the floor, Jenkins opened the door to his office and notified the two wards waiting outside. They would take the hysterical women to her cell for the night. ‘Make sure she takes her prescriptions.’

With his job, you had to stay positive. Maybe tomorrows session could get them one step closer to stabilising her condition. You never knew.
