He selects custom settlings

Ugh. Weiss thought, checking the time on her scroll. Noon on the dot.

The Schnee Heiress had been dreading this meeting all morning, but that had done little to slow the approaching hour.

With Professor Glynda Goodwitch having announced an emergency departure, she had sent a memo stating the next unit of her class would be handled in pairs. Essentially, the students were to learn the material with a study partner, and assist one another if needed. It was annoying. Weiss would have expected Beacon to be able to find a substitute for Ms. Goodwitch, but apparently not.

It was even more of a bother was that their partners were randomly assigned. And was made even worse by the partner she received: Cardin Winchester.

Put simply, the man was an oaf. The sort of guy who thought muscles meant everything, and the type who didn’t have a classy bone in his body. He was the exact opposite of the sort of person Weiss might like, and it was made worse by how much he openly lusted after her when she arrived at Beacon. That said, he wasn’t the first person who wanted to marry into her family and she had dealt with him accordingly.

But now though, she was stuck with him, and as she opened the door to his room, she was greeted by the smug, grinning face of perhaps the most despicable boy in the academy.

Several hours earlier…

Cardin fiddled with the Bimbo Ray. Such a simple thing, and yet it was going to be his key into turning the world into his playground. He still didn’t understand how it worked, but at this point he barely cared. He was practically giddy with anticipation as he waited for Weiss’ arrival.

However, something stumped the young, devious man. What setting should he use on her?

At first, he was tempted to make her a drooling airheaded nympho like he did Glynda, but again, he had to be smart about this. If he went to strong, people would notice, but too weak and Weiss herself would realize what had happened.

The young man’s saving grace was learning about the “Custom” settings one could add on. And after spending a few hours fiddling with them, he was ready.

In short, he had selected the following filters:

Boy-Crazy: The target will become obsessed with the desired individual, in this case, Cardin Winchester.

Brain-Drain: The target’s intelligence will be greatly reduced gradually over time.

It’s Just a Phase: The target’s appearance, style, and mindset will change into that of a bimbo, but the target will explain to others that it is their choice to act and behave like that.

Memory Wipe: The target’s memory of any circumstances surrounding the Bimbo Ray will be incredibly hazy and they will find it difficult to explain to others.

So, feeling quite confident with his plan, Cardin simply waited for his prey to arrive.

And as Weiss closed the door behind her, Cardin pulled out the Ray and fired, leaving Weiss to become engulfed by the Bimbo Ray’s light…
