Chapter 3
by Stage Writer
What does he choose?
He opens the book
He sits there with his eyes closed bracing for impact. He open them and sees that nothing has changed, he's still in the library. He looks around and is just wondering why it didn't work. He thought back to the bus and remembered that he was reading the book when it happened. So he looked at his book and started to reread what he read on the bus.
At first nothing happened, he was just sitting there reading the book. He sighed and decided to just close the book, but when he tried to look away from the words he found that he was unable to. He couldn't stop reading. The world around started changing, the bookshelves started to disappear. It all started to become more and more empty and full of darkness. The last thing to disappear was the book.
When it disappeared Kevin just immediately fell onto his hands and knees and took a deep breath. He looked up and just took in the view of where he was. It was still shocking to see nothing but emptiness. Then his eyes landed on the veil. It looked just like it did the last time he had seen it. He got off of the ground and walked over to the veil. He stood and looked at it. He could see that the veil was made up of words, constantly shifting. He was almost mesmerized by it. He started reaching for it but stopped himself short because he was afraid. He looked at his hand and then back to the veil. He then pushed his hand into the veil. The words then started to move onto his hands. The words moved up through his arms and started engulfing him, he wanted to scream but no sound came out of him. It wasn't painful, in fact he didn't feel anything. What he did feel next was the hard ground of a wooden floor.
He was hit with a sudden bombardment of noise as he looked around and saw that he was now in a bar. He stood up and was just wondering where he was. As he turned around all he saw where people dressed weirdly. He could see farmers, some Knights, a lot of people were wearing clothes that looked ancient. Confused he noticed that people were starting to give him a few weird looks. He tried to ignore them and just try to ask someone where he was. He walked to a man who was sitting down at a table drinking, and tapped on his shoulder. The man turned around and looked at Kevin with an eyebrow raised, " What the heck are ye wearing laddie?"
Looking down at his clothes he realized why people were giving him weird looks, " Ummm, that's not important. I'm sorry to bother you, but do you know where I am?"
The man fully turns around and has the biggest look of confusion on his face. He looks around the bar and says, " Well laddie, you are in Tassie's bar."
" No, that's not what I meant. I meant wh-." He was interrupted by a hand grabbing his shoulder and turning him around. When he stopped moving he found that he was face to face with a girl that has red hair, freckles, and is wearing a heavy set of armor. Kevin was looking at Princess Gwen. He was in awe.
" I need you to follow me. Now!" She said with such determination.
Does he follow her?
