He opens a box that arrived earlier today

Alex picked up the letter from the top of the box:

Dear Alex, I hope this box arrives safely and brings you as much joy as it did when I went shopping for its contents. I thought we could have some fun with these on video or maybe for some naughty photos. These items I've specially chosen and I know you will have a blast exploring them. Alex pulled the items out of the box and spread them out on the bed, these toys certainly had a theme:
