He needs some time to think on this

“I…” Jaune looked at her seriously and it took all of Ruby’s self-control to remain silent. “You/re important to me too, Ruby.” Her eyes suddenly grew hopeful. “But…” A knot formed in her stomach. “I still have these feelings for Weiss and I can’t just shut them off like that. I need a little time, otherwise it’s not fair to you. I can’t respond to your feelings now until I sort out my own.”

“I understand,” Ruby muttered. Feeling embolden, she hugged him, careful not to use her android strength to hurt him. “For what it’s worth? Weiss really missed out.”

“Thanks, Ruby.” Jaune hugged her back. “I probably should have listened to you in the first place about Weiss not being interested. Would have saved me a lot of trouble.” He chuckled. “Probably should have realized you were special when I pulled you out of that hole.”

“That was an accident partially caused by Weiss,” Ruby huffed into his chest. “Don’t bring that up, Vomit boy.”

“Whatever you saw, Crater Face.” They both laughed and Jaune was already feeling better.

Ruby now had a dilemma.

She could wait a couple days and see who Jaune chose. The issue is Pyrrha might try to sneak in during that time. Ruby would just have to make sure to treat Jaune special, without being overly clingy. They need to hang out together and just refresh to him why they are compatible. Part of her wanted to show him the remote too. It could be a secret they shared, but then he might question her current body.

Jaune would probably like her how she was and if he found out she used the remote just to attract him, he might not be happy about that. Perhaps she would wait until Jaune returns her feelings, then swap back to normal, then show him the remote. That might be the best choice.
