He meets his Roommate

The three finally arrive at the dorm as Cindy looks over at John.

Cindy: And which room do you live in?

John drops his duffel bag and looks for the piece of paper with his room number on it.

John: Here it is. I'm in room 306.

That seems to surprise them both.

Ava: Your room is right next to ours! Wau!

Cindy: And Ria finally gets a roommate.

John raises an eyebrow at hearing the new name.

John: Ria?

Cindy: A friend of ours, his real name is Ryo but he prefers to be called Ria. He's a bit shy so please take care of him.

John: Sure.

The three make their way up to their floor before heading to the door of room 306. John knocks on the door and the three of them wait a few seconds before the door opens slightly.

Ria: Y-yes?

John gives him a nice and gentle smile.

John: Hi my name is John, I'm your new roommate.

That seems to surprise him. He opens the door wider and now John sees him properly. He is a boy with short brown hair wearing a pink dress with a floral pattern. A cloak and a necklace around his neck.

Ria: You are John? I-I imagined something different. Please come in.

John: Thank you.

Cindy waves to John.

Cindy: We'll go to our room, take care John, Ria.

Ava: Wau!

The two leave and Ria closes the door as John looks around the room. It is a simple room with two beds, desks and wardrobes. There is another door that probably leads to the bathroom. One side of the room is decorated very nicely as John thinks. He points to the other bed.

John: I assume this is my bed?

Ria: Y-yes.

He sits down and notices that Ria is still staring at him, he assumes a little uncertainly.

John: Everything okay?

Ria: How did you get these injuries?

John: I had to teach a few people a lesson. Is also the reason why I am here. I like to exaggerate when I defend people.

Ria: D-defend people?

Ria takes a seat on his bed.

John: I beat up bullies etc. Is the short summary.

Ria looks down sadly, something John notices.

John: Hey Ria, are you okay?

Ria seems surprised, he didn't expect this rough looking boy to be able to talk to someone so gently. He shakes his head.

Ria: Sorry, I was just bullied a lot when I was younger. That just reminded me.

John looks at him with a smile.

John: It's a shame we didn't know each other before. Otherwise I would have sent these guys to the hospital.

The next thing Ria does surprises John. He giggles with a beautiful voice.

John: Glad you're feeling a little better. Don't worry from now on, every time someone bullies you, tell me. Then I'll give them a free pass to the world of pain.

John gets up and looks out the window to see that it's quite late.

John: If you don't mind I'd like to sleep, I've had a long day.

Ria nods and watches as he throws off his jacket, but he has problems with his shirt. He giggles again and stands up.

Ria: Let me help you.

Ria helps him unbutton his shirt and take it off, but when he sees his bare back he sees some scars. He wanted to touch them, but decides against it.

John: Thank you Ria.

Ria: N-no problem...

John lies down in his bed and slowly begins to sleep. Ria stays awake a little longer and looks at his new roommate.

Ria: He's really nice, just like the Principal said.
