He hears other people nearby.

Right before he was about to grab a towel Curtis could hear people that sounded like they were right around the corner, and since he didn't want to let them see him nude he decided to jump into the pool instead of trying to put on the towel. As he stands in the water he hopes that the people are just walking by and not actually coming to the pool, and that is sort of true. He finally sees a few workers turn the corner and start to unload all of the towels, and Curtis freaks out realizing he needs them to leave at least one. So, he tries to ask them to leave one, but they seemingly just ignore him, perhaps not hearing him and Curtis knows he can't get out of the pool to go to them and ask, making him have to just watch them take away the last thing that could cover him up. With no idea of how to easily get out of this predicament, he decides to just try and stay in the pool until more towels are restocked.

However, what Curtis did not know was that the girls who stole his clothes were coming back to the pool. After wading in the pool for what seemed like forever, he heard more footsteps again and hoped to himself that it was workers with more towels, but instead it was two beautiful girls wearing swim attire. Curtis knew he might be screwed, but thought that he might be able to just keep his distance from them to make them not realize he had no clothes, except the girls already knew that he was not wearing anything.
