"Why did you do this?" Tsukane asked Ichinose as she straightened up as best as she could on the ground in her mermaid form.

"I... I already told you, it's in our nature to do this," she explained, barely holding back her fear. She knew she was screwed out of the water. "We feed off of the life **** of others, we can't survive if we don't do so about once a year... Besides, we weren't killing anyone!" she pleaded.

Tsukane paused and looked at the victims, who had mostly been turned into old men. "...right, but that's about as close as you can get to doing so, like, how much longer did you actually leave them to live?" Kurumu asked, walking up with a huff. Tsukane turned to look at her, and blushed, seeing that her boobs had come loose in the scuffle, the slings of the bikini now in her cleavage.

"Uh... Kurumu," he told her, pointing.

She looked down, and shrugged, not caring much. Tsukane was the only guy in a position to look after all. "Not important. Now answer the question, you trout!" she demanded of Ichinose, leaning in with her claws out, silently threatening to gut her like the fish she partially was.

"It wasn't going to be permanent, I swear!" Ichinose replied. "Do you think Headmaster Tenmei would allow a club that caused this kind of damage if it wasn't fixable? I don't know how he does it, no one does, but after we have our fill, we send the victims to him, and they're back in classes by the next day, you can see for yourself then!" she explained in a hurry. "As long as we don't kill anyone, it's reversible! We get fed, and all they get is a little trauma, and a valuable life lesson not to trust a pretty face! Then, come next year, we lure in some fresh first years, and we rinse and repeat!"

This gave Tsukane some pause. That actually made some sense. Even in a school for monsters, he doubted the mermaids would actually be getting away scot free with this if the damage they did was permanent. Even if the school itself didn't care, surely the families of the victims would be out for blood upon finding out. Still... "So if no one is in any actual danger, why the whole pretense?" he deadpanned at her.

"...life **** tastes better and sustains us better when seasoned with a bit of genuine terror... Plus it's fun," she admitted sheepishly.

"...figures," Tsukane said, accepting the answer.

"Hmph. You still targeted us," Inner Moka growled as she approached. "So don't think you're off the hook just yet. Go find yourself a victim still in the pool who hasn't been drained too close to **** yet or something, since you haven't fed yet. We'll have plans for you later." 'Who knows, she might even enjoy it... Though not as much as we will if I have anything to say about it,' she thought slightly sadistically.

Ichinose nodded frantically, and dove back into the pool. "So what do we do with her?" Kurumu asked, finally fixing her bikini. "We're not going to pass up a mermaid, are we?" she teased Tsukane as he turned the confidence back off, and he went crimson.

"Well, I think joining the swim club is still out, but maybe we can still use the pool from time to time," Tsukane muttered.

"If only to see us in these some more, right?" Kurumu teased, getting a huff from Inner Moka as Tsukane went even redder.

"Men," she huffed. "Still, there better be some punishment involved in whatever you write in that book of yours," she added, taking the Rosary back from Tsukane, who nodded and grabbed the Note from his bag upon returning to the locker room he had stowed it in.
