Chapter 2 by CApybara CApybara

Does he ask her about his suspicions, or see what she says?

He decides to mention his suspicions

I followed her into the bedroom, where she once again told me to go back to sleep. "I'm not that sleepy," I insisted. "I always lie on the couch motionless with my eyes closed when I'm waiting for you."

"You shouldn't have been waiting for me," Cathy said. "Who knows when I'll get home."

As I undressed for bed I realized I was being silly. In all our years together, before and after marriage, I was sure that Cathy had never slept with anyone else. She wasn't the type, and even if she had, the guilt would have driven her crazy. Not to mention that there was no time in her life for an affair. I, on the other hand, I hadn't had an affair either, but I could imagine myself indulging in a fling or two, had the opportunity ever presented itself.

"What exactly did you do tonight with Linda?" I asked, coming out of my reverie, and trying to sound like a bored uninterested husband attempting to sound interested.

"What's with all the questions, all of a sudden, Mister?" Cathy laughed and pushed my to the bed. I was half undressed and all tangles up in my clothes. "You don't want to know what happened." Cathy sat straddling my chest.

"You don't want to hear about my evening, believe me." There was definitely a look in her eye. "Linda was in a wild mood, and she spent the evening flirting with this handsome young waiter."

"Did you have a lot to drink?"

"Just a bit too much. And when the restaurant closed -- "

Cathy tells him that she and Linda went to the waiter's house, or she says the two women parted way
