When does Prince Aslan come to claim you?
He comes before you lose control again
Your father leaves you soon after to curse your own existence. How could he do this to you? Why hadn't he warned you about what might happen if you measured below the mark? Was this why you all had to go to that shitty doctor, in hopes of paying off a life debt to the King? A primal scream rises up, filling the room with your anger and fear. What had you done to deserve this? Nothing more than a breeding slave to the prince when all you ever wanted was to explore the world.
Behind you, the locks are being undone. You watch the entrance warily, expecting maybe the King or your father. Probably come to make sure you understand your place within the castle. A soft huff leaves your lips. You wonder what kind of story they will come up with. Will they paint you as villain? Maybe claim that you 'intoxicated' the prince with your powder and forced him to give you a child? You doubt they would paint Aslan in a poor light, most of the kingdom adores or pities him. Probably will come up with some bullshit love story and you'll have to pretend to be oh so in love with him. You shake your head to try and clear your thoughts. No matter what they decide to do, you will do you duty. Your family needs you to do this so your younger brothers won't meet the same fate.
Imagine your surprise when the prince himself walks into the room, dressed in the fine linens and furs of his status. His gray eyes roam over you quickly, as if trying to decide if you are worth his precious time. You decide he's shit out of luck if he decides you're not, if you have to be stuck doing someone you don't want to sleep with, he's going to have to deal with it too.
"Of course it would be you." he says, stepping further into the room. The guards behind him quickly shut the door and lock it again, leaving the two of you alone for the moment.
"Is that disappointing, my prince?" you ask, trying and failing to disguise the bitterness in your tone.
He pauses for a second, giving you a chance to look him over yourself. Aslan has gotten taller since you last saw him, easily a good seven or eight inches taller than you now. Not strange, since you haven't truly seen the man since his first wedding eight years ago. Gray eyes and hair, a few more scars than you remember. Unsurprising, since he was involved in a short fight with a band of rogue frost fairies two years ago. Maybe that's why no one has seen him in public without his hood or mask on, a sign of shame or disappointment?
"Quite the opposite, my dear." he says, "Your wings are well known across the kingdom and from what I hear, your magic is nearly unmatched. Adding you to the family will certainly strengthen the royal bloodline."
Of course, his interest isn't actually about you. It's about making the Far North stronger.
"Well, you'll get your chance to strengthen your bloodline soon." you reply, feeling the heat start to rise up again, "Shouldn't be too long before whatever they gave me wears off."
"You are aware of what your duties are, correct?"
"From what father explained, I'm to pay off an old life debt and bear you as many children as possible. I'm not to leave the castle until I give you at least one."
Aslan hums thoughtfully, walking over to stand by the bed. You watch nervously. Had you said something wrong, had he not known about the life debt?
"That would be the basics, just missing one tiny detail." he says, "You will not just be my breeder. The King wants us to be married as well. You will be my consort, if only in title for now. Father will decide if you get more responsibilities with time."
Your mind comes to a screeching halt. You have to marry Prince Aslan as well? "I thought you took a vow to never marry again?"
"Times change, my dearest Aspen." he says, the pet name coming off colder than it should have, "The counsel wants the next generation, but doesn't want me to produce illegitmate heirs. Being wed will make sure any child produced from our union will be next in line for the throne should I pass."
Ah, politics. A lovely reason for two fae to be wed. You can feel the heat growing hotter and hotter, your powder gaining it's sparkle again. But you don't want to go under again! You have too many questions!
"Just let go." Aslan says, "The quicker we do this, the quicker we can retire to my chambers. Trust me Aspen, you will want this to be over with as quickly as possible."
Do you give in? Or try to get more answers?
