His order was met by a chorus of rowdy cheers, and the girl was pushed into the hands of his servants, who led her into the tent. She looked frightened but relieved, her eyes locked on the scene of the soldiers dicing for which of them would have first pick of the captive women.

Titus smiled coldly as he watched, laughing as Marius won the right to first pick and dragged a fleshy young wench out of the crowd of prisoners, leading her away as she screamed for mercy in her barbarous tongue. Turning on his heel he entered his tent, anticipating the interview to come.
