He carries her upstairs

Smiling, Hunter knelt beside his sleeping wife and slid his arms under her shoulders and knees. He lifted her effortlessly, holding her against his chest as he carried her towards the stairs. She made a little mewling noise in her sleep then snuggled against him and was still, her soft breathing contented.

He carried Jess upstairs, lifting the covers and gently laying her on the bed, kissing her forehead as she slept. She made a little murmuring noise as he pulled the blanket from the couch away from her and tucked her in. Noting that all she was wearing was one of his t-shirts, he stroked her head, smiling at her as she slept, then went downstairs to turn off lights.
