He Picks Up His Friend, Siobhan

Josh's car drove down a block that looked mostly unchanged. In fact, the only really surprising thing he noticed was that one of the houses on his street looked totally different. He remembered that it had belonged to an unmarried middle aged woman before he'd used the app. He knew where he was going instinctively. He'd promised to pick up his friend Siobhan.

He knew Siobhan. She was his friend back in...back in the _normal _world. Frizzy orange hair given to her by her Irish mother. Decent figure, pale skin, lots of freckles. Always a bit self important, but mostly very kind. She loved to read, and would always tell Josh about some new novel she'd picked up.

Today he found her mostly unchanged. That was normal, he supposed. She was ungraded, after all. The big thing he picked up was that she was standing on the sidewalk, half shaking, and dressed to the nines. Along flowing red dress that matched her eyes. Heels. Signs of stocking beneath her clothes. But, most of all plenty of make-up.

"Someone's overdressed today." He pointed out, as he opened the passenger side door.

"Well yeah, with all the people who are going to seeing me today, it's not like I have much of a choice..." She crossed her arms and made a pouting expression. His instinctive knowledge of this new world told him that trying to dress up your best was normal in this world on grading day.

"I like it. You look cute." Josh said.

"Shut up. Come on. We can't be late." Her tone was annoyed, but there was a hint of a shy smile on her face. "Do you remember what they did to the late girls last year?"

"Then, I should drive extra slowly."

"Come on. You're an asshole."

She slapped his arm. Josh did indeed go faster.

"Nervous?" He asked.

"Are you kidding? Who isn't nervous?" She was brushing her hair back with her hands.

"I think I'll be fine though. I mean, at least on the social dominance part." She said, mostly to herself. Josh listened along, more a casual spectator in the conversation. "You know how little shit I give about being polite when someone is trying to walk all over me."

"What about the sexual component though?" He pointed out.

She paused for a moment to consider her answer before she replied...
