He's making breakfast, of course

You learn what it means to truly fear for your life. Your breathing stops, everything turns cold, and your mind hyper-focuses like a laser, all semblance of tiredness immediately fleeing the scene.

You take a careful step backwards, closing the door slowly. It isn't as stealthy as you'd hoped; the quiet thunk sounds like a thunderclap to you.

You back away as quickly as you dare, trying to tread lightly to avoid creaking floorboards. Did it hear you? What should you do? Will it go away, or should you just abandon the flat?

Then the door opens. A reptilian head pokes its way out, its eye trained directly on you.

You want to run, but your body won't move! You're frozen, trapped staring this dinosaur in the eye like a deer in headlights. Is this how you die?

Its mouth opens, revealing dozens, maybe hundreds of razor-sharp teeth. Without question, the beast before is none other than **** incarnate!

"Oh, hello!" **** incarnate says, in a surprisingly soft-spoken voice. "Please don't be afraid. I understand your concern, but I am not a danger to you."

You don't move, or speak, or react in any way. This scenario has all ramped up in weirdness far too quickly for you, and your body, mind and emotions do not know how to process this!

Broden chooses that moment to step out of his bedroom, wearing pink star-spangled pyjamas and holding a surprisingly empty mug. "Morning, Carol. Morning Alan." He greets you both casually, then walks past the dinosaur into the kitchen without a care in the world. Moments later, you hear the kettle start to boil. Accompanied by the sound of crackling oil.

"Ah, my bacon!" the dinosaur (Alan?) exclaims, dashing back into the common room & out of sight.

You're left alone in the hallway once more, feeling drained and confused. And hungry. Your fight-or-flight instinct took everything you had, and there wasn't even that much left to take after your rampant sexcapades last night.

You could enter the kitchen to get some breakfast. Alternatively, you could avoid any awkward conversations involving your hunky fuck-buddy and a dinosaur, and go outside to get breakfast from the nearby student union canteen instead.
