Hawk opened the hatch

Valerie reached the entrance to hatch leading to the data center. Hawk opened it at her signal, and she crawled through. She saw another closed hatch right in front of her.

"It's a gating mechanism.", he said in her ear. "They filter the air going inside. Give me a second."

She heard the hatch behind her close. Before the one in front opened up, she noticed tiny spray nozzles coming to life, filling the entire duct with a fine mist. She felt the instinct to cough, and held her breath until the mist dissolved.

"What was that?", she asked.
"Some kind of insect killer. They really don't want bugs in their computers, I guess.", he replied.

Valerie looked at her suit worriedly. It had taken a full blast of that spray from multiple angles. For a brief moment, she saw what appeared like small bubbles on the suit sleeve near her hand. Hopefully it was just a trick of the light.

She moved through the second hatch. The air was very chilly inside, the sudden change in temperature making her shiver. She knew from the building plans that the data center had its separate cooling system, but she hadn't thought about how cold it would feel. It was practically freezing in here.

She opened a grill quietly and entered the room, feeling the cold air on her exposed back and crotch. She shivered as she was reminded her that in terms of clothing, all she had on was a thin film of material. Speaking of which - as she moved, she felt the material of her suit harden, likely as a result of the cold air. It felt as if she was losing a little bit of mobility. Putting that thought aside, she began to search for a terminal to access the system.

She tried to control her shivering as she found a computer, sitting on a chair as she began typing on the keyboard. "I'm giving you access to the data center.", she said in her earpiece.

"See you in 5.", replied Hawk.

She began searching for Iris's location inside the building.
