Hanging Out with her Friends

Clarice sat on the couch, not sure what to say. The household was gathered downstairs in the TV room. Beer and mixed drinks were scattered around the room, and playing cards were in stacked in a pile in the middle of the of the coffee table. The area had seen cleaner days, but everyone was comfortable and at home. Her best friend, Caitlyn, was on her phone and sipping at a bourbon, Noel was complaining about something to Amir, who was sitting on the comfy chair with his boyfriend Joey. Everyone else having a good time.

Clarice was trying to feel at ease, but she struggled with too much social contact. She was an introvert at heart, and avoided long gatherings like this one, even though everyone there was a close friend. They had to drag out of her room, and she was still feeling the urge to run back upstairs and jump online. But she wanted to make an effort, and so she sipped her drink and desperately thought of something to say, and ice breaker that would start a conversation she could engage with.

Thats when something strange happened..
