Hang out with Gabi and Ivan

I decide to sit back and hang with Gabi and Ivan, the familiar faces that I’ve been closest too so far. Maybe a bit too close with Ivan but still. They were speaking rather casual over small things, it seemed something about a situation that happened with lunch before in school that they reminisced. “Hey guys, mind if I join in?”

Ivan smiled and patted the seat next to him. “Not at all.” “Nah please join, we’d love to have you with.” Gabi added. I made myself comfortable next to Ivan with her asking, “So are you feeling better? Not sick anymore are you?” I shook my head with a calm smile. “Feeling much better, thanks for asking. And also thanks for helping me put up there.” “It’s no big deal, Sony was the one with you most of the time I just wanted to make sure you wanted to stay or go. You know I would take you home if you still have doubts?” “Really? I appreciate that, but really I’m fine.” “We wouldn’t mind,” Ivan added, “I’d certainly take care of you.” Gabi scoffed and punched him in the arm softly. “He means like a friend and nothing sexual, right?” Ivan laughed. “Unless he wanted otherwise I mean.”

“Ha, don’t think that would help much but again, I do appreciate the thought guys.” I lean forward a bit. “Really I do. I didn’t think I would have any friends so quickly but, here I have you guys.” Gabi looked at me. “You know Nick, Carl, David and Yesenia care too.” Speaking of, where are Yesenia and David, they didn’t wanna come?” I ask. Ivan shook his head. “David had a girl he wanted to date today.” “Yesenia had plans with her other friends.” Gabi added, “These parties are kind of once every few weeks around here so they kinda lose value over the months.” I nod. “Okay, I understand.” “Just keep in mind we care, people here care about others, it’s just about finding the ones who you connect with the most.” “So why did you guys let me join?” “Join?” Ivan chuckled and shoved me aside. “You make us sound like some sort of club! We just wanted another friend around, and you’re cute so there’s also that.” He smiled and held my hand with Gabi grabbing my other hand. “You got us Alex, there’s no special reason aside from us liking you. We just hope you like us too, and that we come to share a lot of good memories together in the future.” I smiled and felt warm inside after taking her words in. She might not know it but... I needed that. I needed to hear that.
