Hallway talk

Heading to class I hear some people talking about the dare for Monday. “Can’t believe someone dared me to do that “ “not sure if I am brave enough to do that “ “I have to do what Monday “ “there’s a lot dares listed “ are just some of the comments I hear.

But what I also hear is people talking about Saturday. “Hey you hear about the concert “ “planning on getting in line for that early “ what time is the concert “ “when are we meeting “ are just some of the things I hear.

Heading up the classroom I see Becky and Susan talking. “Hey you two “ I say. Then I hear a camera click from behind me and look behind me and a boy has his phone pointing up my skirt from behind. Quickly turning around “excuse me what are you doing “ I say “um” he says before he starts running down the hall. “Some people “ I say under my breath. Guess someone doesn’t want to wait until Monday. Walking up to Susan and Becky “did you see that “ I say “what “ Becky says “that boy took a picture of my ass up my skirt “ I say. “Well you do have a nice backside down there “ Susan says smiling “that’s beside the point “ I say “well some people are getting crazy about Monday already “ Becky says. “Yeah I noticed “ I say. “What about that concert Saturday and Sunday though “ Susan asks “what concert “ I ask “ heard some students talking about it “ I continue saying. “The Kitties concert” Becky says “the who concert “ I say trying to act like I don’t know who they are. Only certain friends actually know about my past with them. “Not The Who but the Kitties “ Becky says “they are a four player girl band that dresses up as cats but no one knows who they really are “ Susan says. “Yeah they are pretty popular right now “ Becky says “are they a new band then” I ask “yes and no as this group of girls took over for the original band members “ Susan says “what happened to the original band “ I ask wondering how much they know. “Not exactly sure but the press said something about contract issues with the original band and so the company had to recruit new members “ Susan says. Almost correct but the studio wasn’t about to tell the real story about what happened so they made the contract issue to cover up the truth. Hearing another click behind me. All three of us look back and see another boy with his phone pointing up my skirt. “Get lost “ Susan says as she steps forward towards the boy and he starts running down the hall. “Looks like some people are starting early on the dares” Becky says. “Yeah but let’s not try to let them spoil our day “ Susan says. “Speaking of which it’s about time for class “ Becky says “let’s head in then “ I say. So the three of us head into the classroom and take our seats
