Halloween Party

Lauren sighs. “I have a work Halloween party, so it has to be something tasteful, classic maybe.”

The man smiles. “You’ve come to the right place. We have several simple, classic costumes.”

The woman looks her over. “Well, you don’t look the type who wants to be a vampire or a werewolf.”

Lauren nods.

“If you’re looking for a magical evening, we do have this.”

She holds out a wide brim pointy hat.

Lauren looks at it. “I suppose with the right little black dress this would be perfect. How much?”

“Twenty dollars and it’s yours.”

Lauren slips her hand in her purse and pulls out a twenty. The woman hands her the hat. Her hand tingles.

“Remember, we offer satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.”

“Uh, thanks.” Lauren says as she leaves the store.

She rubs her hand on the smooth fabric of the hat. She can’t wait to see how she’ll look for the party.
