Gwen Sweeps Jolyne Off Her Feet

Both Jolyne and Spider-Gwen are eventually able to shrug off their shock, ending their stare off. Within an instant, both girls make their move. With 「STONE FREE」floating a meter away from Jolyne, the ex-con needed to recall her stand back to defend herself. This gave Gwen the advantage, as she wasted no time extending her leg out and spinning from her crouched position. Gwen's legs crashed into both of Jolyne's Achilles tendons, causing them to buckle and making the stand user's balance falter. Jolyne let out a grunt of pain as she felt herself being sent partially into the air and falling backward from the **** of Ghost-Spider's sweep. Time seemed to slow from Jolyne's perspective as she fell. She glanced over at the superhero; despite her face being fully covered, the way that Ghost-Spider's lenses changed shape to match facial expressions seemed to indicate a hint of joy. Jolyne clicked her teeth in annoyance at the sight. She wasn't going to let that spider freak get away with being a smug little shit, for now it was time for Jolyne to shine.

Mere milliseconds before Jolyne crashed into the ground「STONE FREE」reached its user. The blue stand floated next to Jolyne, back-to-back, and looked down at Spider-Gwen. On its user command, 「STONE FREE」let out a barrage of punches along with its signature battle cry, "ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA!" Each mighty punch was aimed directly at the web-slinger. Though none of the blows would land, as just moments before the first punch reached Spider-Gwen, the girl leaped backward causing 「STONE FREE」to only punch the concrete below it, cratering it with each blow.

Gwen Stacy watched as the ground that she had previously stood on got decimated. Her Spider-Sense had warned her of danger, a danger that her eyes could not see. It was that invisible **** again. Was she fighting some sort of psychic? And then there it was again, her Spider-Sense. It was screaming out to her. Earth-65's Spider-Woman didn't even get a second to rest as she felt the invisible **** rushing toward her again. Normally, when she was in mid-air and didn't have momentum on her side, she'd dodged by using her webbing to pull herself away from danger. But at the speed at which the **** was moving toward her, Gwen lacked the time to shoot out a web. Instead, she chose to block, raising her arms over her chest and face moments before she was sent flying backward by the invisible ****, the impact ripping the sleeves of Gwen's costume right where the forearm would be.

Both girls crashed into the ground, both letting out a moan of pain at the same time. Jolyne was the first to sit up, 「STONE FREE」dematerializing as she did. Jolyne rubbed the back of her ankles, letting out a wince of pain as she did. Yup, that was definitely leaving a bruise, the stand user thought to herself. Jolyne had gotten lucky, despite the Ghost-Spider dodging her initial few attacks, since she had never left「STONE FREE」's effective range. The prison escapee looked behind her and stared at her now kneeling opponent. She was without a doubt superhumanly strong and, if she was right, was mostly likely holding back when she attacked. It might be basic common sense, but she needed to avoid letting Spider-Bitch over there attack her physically. There was also the fact that she could see 「STONE FREE」... or at least Jolyne thought that she could see her stand. She does look surprised whenever 「STONE FREE」attacks, so either this is her first time seeing a stand or she's sensing it through another means.

Gwen stared down at her arms in shock. Her arms were still shaking from pain. It had felt like she had just had a freight train crash into her at full speed. What the hell was that woman's power? The Spider-Sense warned of how dangerous it was, but feeling it first-hand was another story. She had thought earlier that perhaps she was fighting a psychic of some sort, but that blow she took felt physical, like someone had punched her. "A punch with the **** of a train, just great." Gwen dryly quipped to herself as she clenched both her hands into fists. Spider-Gwen looked up to see Holly or Jillian or whatever it was leaving the alleyway in a hurry. The way she was speed walking indicated that she was injured. "Oh, so you plan on hiding in the crowded streets of New York City, huh?" Gwen inquired, "Well, good look doing that with your outfit, honey!" The hero cracked a joke that only she'd be able to hear. Spider-Gwen jumped onto the wall of the building to her right. Sticking onto it due to her powers, Gwen began to crawl up it. Upon reaching the top of the wall, Gwen vaulted herself over the roof's edge and immediately started to run over to the side that overlooked the city's streets.
